Credit Marketing & Communications - Assistant Vice President, Content (Writing Focus) - Toronto

The Credit Marketing & Communications group is seeking a highly motivated individual to join its Credit Communications team as an Assistant Vice President, Content (Writing Focus) in Toronto.

The Assistant Vice President, Content (Writing Focus) is responsible for setting direction and overseeing the development of high-quality written content across the Credit Marketing & Communications function. This role partners closely with analysts, communications, and editorial leadership to identify compelling storylines, guide content strategy, and ensure written materials are timely, insightful, and aligned with business priorities. The AVP will lead and develop a team of writers and editors while contributing directly to priority content initiatives.

Job Responsibilities:

Content Development and Strategy
  • Guide, coordinate, and shape writing projects in collaboration with analysts and stakeholders, including commentaries, conference takeaways, and new content formats emerging from organizational changes.
  • Identify content gaps and opportunities, and proactively propose new ideas that enhance thought leadership and market visibility.
  • Contribute to broader content strategy initiatives and cross-functional projects within Credit Marketing & Communications.


Quality Control and Editorial Contribution
  • Maintain high standards for clarity, structure, and consistency in written output, working in close partnership with the Editorial-focused AVP.
  • Participate in general editorial and writing work as needed, including high-priority or fast-turnaround pieces.


Team Leadership and Development
  • Manage, coach, and develop a team of writers and editors, including onboarding, performance management, and career development.
  • Deliver regular one-on-ones, team meetings, and feedback to support individual growth and team effectiveness.
  • Lead or support training sessions and workshops for writers, editors, and analysts focused on writing best practices and content effectiveness.


Workflow and Operations
  • Help manage the daily content queue and workflow, including prioritization, reassignment across time zones, and support for on-call coverage.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline writing processes and reduce friction between content and analytical teams.


Innovation and AI Enablement
  • Support the adoption of AI-enabled tools that improve efficiency, idea generation, and quality control, in line with editorial standards and governance.
  • Contribute to guidance and training on responsible and effective AI usage in content creation.


Qualifications:
  • 5-10 years of experience developing written content in collaboration with stakeholders.
  • 3+ years of experience managing a team of writers and editors.


Base Salary Compensation Range
$75,600.00-110,874.00
Incentive Target Percentage
12.5% Annual
