Full Job Description
High-Level Overview

Are you a visionary creative ready to help shape the visual identity of a global brand? As our Creative Director, you will be the guardian of the Benevity brand, responsible for defining and evolving our brand's visual and digital language to inspire action and drive social impact. You are equally at home concepting a campaign as you are building a project plan - a rare blend of creative and operational leader who thrives on both the big idea and the details that bring it to life. You will work at the intersection of strategy and execution, leading high-stakes creative projects and mentoring designers to elevate our profile as a category leader and the world's enterprise impact platform.

This role is ideal for a leader who "grew up digital" and knows how to run a tight creative operation. Managing the processes, contributing to the work and mentoring designers to push their craft, leading high-stakes creative projects, and evolving our brand's visual language to inspire action and drive global social impact. If you're ready to take your creative career to the next level, we would love to hear from you!

What you'll do
  • Creative Strategy: Develop and implement a comprehensive brand design strategy aligned with Benevity's business objectives to improve brand equity and visual consistency across all touchpoints.
  • Visual Identity Leadership: Lead the evolution of Benevity's visual identity system, across all media, ensuring it remains modern, accessible, and deeply resonant with our global audience.
  • Creative Execution: Lead day to day execution and output of creative team and brainstorming for major marketing programs, product launches, and events. Develop a creative base for "big Ideas" that convert product and social impact data into emotional, thumb-stopping creative concepts. Direct, design and produce high-quality creative assets for major campaigns, product launches, and brand initiatives, ensuring excellence in typography, color, engagement (digital) and layout.
  • Operational Leadership & Workload Management: Own the creative team's intake process, project prioritization, and capacity planning to ensure the right work gets done at the right time and that our teams can work at the speed of impact. Build and maintain systems that give the team clarity on priorities, deadlines, and bandwidth - balancing urgent requests against longer-horizon brand-building work without sacrificing quality.
  • Collaboration across the business: Partner with Product, Marketing, Sales and People teams to ensure appropriate input and creative briefs that lend themselves to a unified brand experience across the entire customer and employee journey. Work with and influence stakeholders at all levels, including executives.
  • Web oversight: Partner with the Digital Marketing team to deliver a high-performing, on-brand web experience, establishing and enforcing shared standards that drive improvements in performance, accessibility, and creative consistency.
  • Mentorship & Influence: Provide creative direction and mentorship to the design team, supporting their design time while fostering a culture of innovation, excellence, experimentation and continuous learning.
  • Team and Agency Management: In addition to managing internal team resources, oversee budget and external creative agencies and vendors to ensure timely project execution that meets Benevity's high standards for quality brand alignment.
  • Design Systems: Evolve and maintain our brand design system and guidelines, empowering internal teams to create on-brand content efficiently.

What you'll bring
  • Experience: 8+ years of experience in brand design, with at least 3 years of creative leadership experience with B2B brands (experience with SaaS brands a plus).
  • Creative Expertise: A portfolio showcasing world-class design execution and strategic thinking across digital, print, video and physical environments. A commitment to evolving personal expertise, seeking opportunities to up-level your own skill set while producing high-stakes "hero" assets when needed.
  • Leadership Skills: Proven experience leading complex creative projects, developing a creative team and influencing stakeholders at all levels, including executives.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and visual storytelling skills, with the ability to articulate design decisions and their impact on business goals. Strong interpersonal and listening skills with the ability to negotiate priorities and resolve conflicts among stakeholders. You understand not just what people say, but the business intent behind their requests and can translate that to your team.
  • Technical Mastery: Expert-level proficiency in traditional, video and evolving digital design tools. A challenger mentality, a "can-do" attitude with the flexibility to adapt to evolving priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Process & Organizational Skills: You are as comfortable in a project management tool, like Asana, as you are in a design tool. You bring structure to the creative process: tracking deliverables, managing timelines, and protecting the team's capacity - without letting process slow down great work.
