Job Summary
The CPA Grants Management Specialist will be responsible for overseeing the financial management of grants to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, as well as organizational policies. This role requires a thorough understanding of accounting principles, grant administration, and financial reporting. The ideal candidate will bring strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams.
Key Responsibilities
Grant Financial Oversight: Manage all aspects of grant budgeting, accounting, and reporting to ensure compliance with organizational policies and grant requirements.
Budget Preparation: Collaborate with project managers to prepare accurate and comprehensive grant budgets that align with financial projections and funding guidelines.
Financial Reporting: Prepare and review financial statements and reports for grant-funded projects, ensuring accuracy and compliance with applicable regulations.
Audit Support: Act as the primary point of contact for auditors during grant audits, ensuring all documentation and financial records are in order and readily available.
Compliance Monitoring: Monitor grant expenditures and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, as well as grant-specific requirements.
Training and Guidance: Provide training and support to program staff on financial management and compliance related to grants and funding sources.
Data Analysis: Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement in grant management processes.
Policy Development: Contribute to the development and implementation of policies and procedures related to grant management and financial oversight.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA certification required.
Minimum of [10 years] of experience in accounting, with a focus on grants management preferred.
Strong knowledge of grant accounting principles, A-123, A-133, government regulations, and reporting requirements.
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, etc.) and MS Office Suite, especially Excel.
Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams.
Experience with governmental agencies is a plus.
