Country Club Membership Sales Director

Overview:

Omni La Costa Resort & Spa is seeking an experienced sales professional to join our dynamic, award-winning sales team. Our iconic resort has continually been a leader in the resort market by delivering exceptional programs, individual guest service, impressive financial results, and enviable associate satisfaction scores. The Sales team was recognized as Sales Team of the Year for Omni Hotels & Resorts in 2025. Omni Hotels & Resorts ranked #1 in the Upper-Upscale category of the J.D. This is a sales-focused position requiring a balance of business development, account management, commercial strategy, and event execution. Working collaboratively with Golf Operations, Resort Sales, Revenue Management, and other resort departments, this position is responsible for maximizing golf revenue while delivering exceptional customer experiences and maintaining the resort's luxury service standards.

SUMMARY

To sell new Club Memberships at Omni La Costa Resort and Spa and achieving the Club's Membership Sales Plan. Develop and implement programs, projects and activities designed to increase and retain memberships in the club. Represent the club in its relationship with external constituencies.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  1. Liaison between the members and management and has very strong rapport working under the auspices of the Club's Bylaws.
  2. Communication: Telephoning Prospects, giving club tours of the Club, obtaining sales leads from outside sources, and sending out necessary membership correspondence to prospects and Members
  3. Enrolling new Members through an orientation process - Supporting a 30/60/90 day follow up with department heads.
  4. Completing all the processing paperwork for new Members: Membership Application a Promissory Notes, and compliance with audit items. Ensures that established procedures for processing new members' applications are consistently followed and are complete.
  5. Promotes club activities to drive new sales and holds prospective member functions. Following up with Members for referrals and being visible in Club during peak member usage
  6. Track all Follows-up on telemarketing and digital efforts, member referrals, leads to determine ROI on each campaign and marketing effort.
  7. Maintains the club's prospect data base in CRM and maintains Resort Suite.
  8. Plans and implements strategies to meet club membership goals..
  9. Researches the need for on-going sales promotions regarding demographics, market segmentation data, etc. Determines markets to be canvassed for qualified individuals
  10. Tracks the success and overall performance of all membership open houses and prospect events.
  11. Assists with development of the social activities and calendar to assist in driving new sales.
  12. Assists in club member and public relations efforts, and club brochures and sales collateral with resort marketing and membership director. Assist with development of Club's annual Marketing Plans
  13. Effectively responds to member comments in accordance with club standards, policies and rules; uses ideas, feedback and suggestions to continuously improve the services provided to members.
  14. Adheres to a departmental budget.
  15. Interacts with local community organizations to network and market the club and drive the Omni La Costa brand to promote the sales of new memberships.
  16. Attend Club's Members Events and take lead to network and increase membership referrals.
  17. Utilize CRM program accurately (data base prospects/members/leads) and be able to report details and monthly results.


QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • A minimum of three years recent commissioned sales experience. Previous sales experience in the private club or hospitality industry is desirable.
  • Candidate must be able to demonstrate strong selling skills including: Need Identification; closing ability and excellent prospecting techniques, including cold calling and telemarketing skills.
  • An undergraduate degree in business, marketing, public relations, communications, hotel or restaurant and other related fields is preferred.
  • Previous marketing and public relations experience as well as the ability to assist with Club marketing plans and implementation is desirable.
  • Candidate must possess excellent communication skills including: strong verbal presentation skills, group presentation skills and excellent composition skills.
  • Candidate must show strong networking ability with local civic and business organizations.
  • Position requires administrative skills including: attention to detail; timely project completion; weekly reporting and record keeping; maintenance of computerized prospect tracking system; moderate computer skills with the aptitude to learn more; mathematical and computational skills; moderate typing skills; strong time management and organizational skills.
  • Position requires the ability and desire to work flexible hours. This would include evenings, weekends, and some holidays.
  • Candidate should possess strong leadership and motivational skills. A "team player" attitude is a must.
  • Golf and/or Tennis background a plus.
