Summary:

This position will support Moder's legal department operations, with a primary focus on contract drafting, review, and negotiation. The ideal candidate has strong legal writing skills, advanced analytical ability, and the capacity to independently manage a contracts workload. The role requires excellent communication skills and an ability to deliver clear, well-reasoned legal guidance to the Moder family of companies.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Review, draft, and redline contracts across the Moder family of companies, including master services agreements, statements of work, work orders, change orders, vendor agreements, and non-disclosure agreements.

  • Independently manage routine contract requests from intake through execution, exercising sound judgment and escalating complex or non-standard issues as appropriate.

  • Conduct independent legal research to support contract positions, identify potential risks, and propose practical solutions aligned with Moder's business priorities and risk management practices.

  • Prepare contract summaries, risk assessments, and negotiation talking points.

  • Interact with business stakeholders at various levels to gather requirements, explain contract terms, and facilitate timely contract execution.

  • Comply with all company policies and procedures.

  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance.

  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills, particularly in tracking contract status and maintaining accurate records.

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex legal concepts to non-legal stakeholders.

  • Proficiency with contract management tools and databases.

Education and/or Experience:

  • Graduate of an accredited law school and barred in one or more United States jurisdictions.

  • Three to five years9 experience in a corporate legal department, or equivalent experience in a law firm focused on legal generalist duties including contract drafting and negotiation

  • Direct experience in financial services and technology-related transactions preferred

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

  • Active law license (bar admission) in at least one United States jurisdiction required.

May require familiarity with the financial/mortgage (or job-specific) industry. Problems require understanding of other job areas.
