Full Job Description
Our US Corrosion Prevention team within Pipe Integrity team is growing to meet our business needs and add a new team member in one of our corporate or regional locations to support the US Natural Gas Operations Corrosion Prevention Program.

We are seeking an experienced Corrosion Prevention Engineer who has knowledge and experience in the design, monitoring and scoping of mitigative activities of impressed current cathodic protection, galvanic anode cathodic protection and AC current mitigation systems. This individual has the proven skills, competencies and capacity to collaborate with CP technicians, specialists, contractors, and project execution teams to ensure the pipeline system is adequately protected against corrosion to allow continued safe operations of the asset and compliance with regulations.

What You'll Do
  • Own, maintain and implement the corrosion prevention program for the operating footprint
  • Collaborate with CP specialist and technicians to scope survey and remediation programs
  • Analyze incoming CP data and identify deficiencies requiring remediation, including AC mitigation, Remote Monitoring Unit troubleshooting, stray current, and above/below criteria findings
  • Scope and design CP remedial projects for assets, as needed
  • Support project execution teams to ensure successful implementation of designs, for end-of-life replacements, new design requirements, as well as both greenfield and brownfield system upgrades
  • Build and implement program oversight structure for third party providing CP services
  • Support regulatory engagement and reporting activities for US regulators
  • Analyze in-line inspection, direct assessment and other data to generate, plan, schedule and implement effective programs to manage external corrosion and other pipeline integrity threats
  • Analyze environmental, operational and historical data to infer condition of pipeline regarding the external corrosion threat and any corresponding corrosion prevention modifications required according to integrity management plans
  • Report, document, and demonstrate compliance with company corrosion processes and procedures
  • Analyze assessment data to determine potential future actions to improve safety and reliability of pipeline facilities
  • Work with Project Managers and regional personnel to ensure successful implementation of CP programs
  • Assist with development of internal standards, plans, procedures, and specifications to ensure compliance with regulations, codes, standards, and industry best practices
  • Provide timely technical support to various internal and external stakeholders
  • Other tasks as required


Minimum Qualifications
  • 10 Years' experience in Corrosion Prevention or adjacent discipline
  • Bachelor's degree in an Engineering discipline
  • Ten years of progressive experience in an engineering environment related to pipeline integrity, corrosion control and/or coatings
  • Background in pipeline integrity management
  • Knowledge and solid experience in external corrosion control, assessment, management and coatings


Preferred Qualifications
  • Registered AMPP CP professional with completion of AMPP CP 3 program
  • Post-graduate degree in a related Engineering discipline
  • Experience with US pipeline design, construction, operations, and/or integrity
  • Knowledge of integrity related PHMSA requirements including changes within latest revisions
  • P.E. or ability to obtain license
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively in a collaborative team environment
  • Self-motivated to deliver results and continuously improve
  • Experience working in a dynamic and challenging environment, and adaptable to changing priorities
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, ability to analyze and interpret data, and convey information to a variety of stakeholders


This position requires candidates to:
  • Have and maintain a valid driver's license
  • Travel across North America to other company locations for temporary assignments, meetings or training (estimated up 10% of work schedule)
