This is an opportunity to become part of a dedicated team supporting public safety,
working in a correctional facility where professionalism, resilience, and teamwork are essential.
The incumbent of this position serves as security supervisor over Restorative Justice specialized programing with up to 424 inmate participants. The incumbent is responsible for inmates participating in one of the specialized programs offered at EHCC.
Minimum Qualifications Four years of experience in a correctional, behavioral, or penal institution with responsibility for the security, custody, rehabilitation, or classification of offenders, or in law enforcement or security plus one of the following:
1. Possession of a high school diploma or GED; OR
2. One year of experience in any field; OR
3. Six months of law enforcement experience as a POST certified peace officer.
Two years of this experience must have been in a position equivalent in scope of responsibility or complexity of work performed to a Corrections Lieutenant in the State service.
NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
An applicant who has been convicted of a misdemeanor crime of domestic violence or a felony, or who is under indictment on a felony charge will be disqualified until relief from the disabilities imposed by state and federal laws is granted.
In accordance with the Prison Rape Elimination Act (PREA) (Part 115:17) of Title 28 of the Code of Federal Regulations an applicant who has been found to have engaged in any form of sexual abuse; engaged in sexual activity in the community facilitated by force, overt or implied threats of force, or coercion, or if the victim did not consent or was unable or refused will be disqualified.
Applicants must be at least 18 years of age.
Possession of a current driver's license.

Job Duties and Other Information Job Duties:
- Serve as disciplinary court chair for all disciplinary infractions committed by program participants.
- Conduct roll call at time and place appropriate for shift assignment and inspect all personnel prior to going on duty.
- Make certain that all mandatory posts are manned.
- Discuss safety topics and roll call training at roll call and insure that proper documentation is done.
- Make complete checks of all programming areas.
- Specialized training relative to programming, handling inmates with special needs.
- Review all shift paperwork and turn it into the Corrections Lieutenant Colonel at the end of the shift.
Appointment Type: PROBATION, or PROMOTION OF A PERMANENT, CLASSIFIED LOUISIANA STATE EMPLOYEE
- Current permanent status classified LA State employees may be required to accept a probational appointment if accepted.
- An employee selected for a promotion may be required to serve a trial detail prior to being permanently promoted.

Compensation: This position has a Special Entrance Rate (SER) of $34.88 per hour.This position also offers premium pay: A rate between
$1.00 and $2.00 an hour for each regular hour worked, based on years of service with DOC, in addition to regular pay.
