DESCRIPTION OF WORK
This role oversees factory operations to support safe production, quality control, and organized workflow. As a Corrections General Industries Factory Supervisor, you will perform the following duties:
  • Staff and Inmate Supervision: Provide direction, training, and evaluations for staff and inmate workers
  • Product Oversight: Guide product design, development, and quality checks from start to finish
  • Production Planning: Organize schedules, inventory levels, and shipping timelines to meet needs
  • Material Management: Control the receipt, storage, and use of materials, equipment, and supplies
  • Record Maintenance: Manage factory records so they align with retention rules and standards

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
  • Full-time employment, 40-hour work week
  • Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday.
  • This position is eligible for full retirement benefits at age 50 or 55.
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $59,588.00 (before taxes).

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
  • One year as a Corrections General Industries Factory Foreperson (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • Four years of experience in the production of goods or services, which includes one year of lead work experience; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training, which includes one year of lead work experience in the production of goods or services.

  • Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.
