Corporate Tax Manager - Methods, Credits & Incentives (R&D) to join our growing R&D Tax Credit practice. This role focuses on navigating complex federal and state R&D tax regulations while delivering practical, value-driven tax solutions to clients across multiple industries.
The ideal candidate will lead R&D tax credit engagements, manage multiple projects, supervise teams, and collaborate with leadership on client development initiatives. This is a hybrid role requiring a minimum of three days in-office or at client sites.
Key Responsibilities - Lead and manage R&D tax credit engagements from planning through delivery
- Conduct client site visits, tour facilities, and gather technical and financial data
- Investigate relevant facts and analyze accounting information
- Prepare cost lead schedules, cost summary schedules, and tax computations
- Draft detailed technical reports summarizing findings
- Review and amend tax returns as required
- Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and in accordance with firm standards
- Manage multiple concurrent engagements effectively
- Supervise and mentor team members
- Support leadership initiatives and participate in business development activities
- Assist with proposals, client pursuits, and practice growth efforts
- Travel to client locations as needed
Must-Have Qualifications - Active CPA license OR JD with active attorney's license (Required)
- Six (6) to Ten (10) years of experience in R&D tax credits
- Open to candidates with Fixed Asset or Tax Accounting Methods experience
- Minimum four (4) years of experience in Accounting or Tax within public accounting or consulting
- Prior project management experience
- Strong understanding of federal and select state R&D tax rules and relevant court cases
- Intermediate understanding of tax return mechanics
- Experience amending tax returns
