Full Job Description
Role and Position Description

We are seeking an experienced, detail-oriented Corporate Real Estate and Workplace Manager to manage the firm's multi-state operations.

The Corporate Real Estate & Workplace Manager leads Degenkolb's corporate real estate and workplace function by managing office projects, workplace standards, facilities coordination, and portfolio reporting. Working closely with the COO and CFO, the role translates executive strategy into successful execution across the firm's office portfolio. This hybrid position can be based in one of our West Coast offices: Los Angeles, Oakland, Orange, Sacramento, San Diego, San Francisco, or Seattle.

This is not a traditional facilities management role nor simply a project management position. It is a function-owner role. The successful candidate will independently manage projects, anticipate organizational needs, develop recommendations for leadership, establish repeatable standards, and require minimal day-to-day direction.

Ideal Candidate: You'll thrive in this role if you -
  • Are independent and self-directed, with good judgment to anticipate needs and propose solutions.
  • Are highly organized and detail-oriented, managing multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
  • Are a skilled coordinator who builds consensus across diverse groups-architects, contractors, brokers, and internal stakeholders.
  • Are process-oriented and enjoy establishing systems and standards that improve efficiency.
  • Are analytical and comfortable with financial data, budgets, and project reporting.
  • Are collaborative and relationship-focused, building strong partnerships across vendors and leadership.
  • Balance strategic real estate planning with operational execution and attention to detail.
  • Are committed to creating quality workplace environments that support culture and talent retention.

Key Responsibilities

Corporate Real Estate & Workplace Projects (50%)
  • Manage office relocations, renovations, expansions, and tenant improvements.
  • Coordinate architects, contractors, brokers, landlords, and consultants.
  • Develop project schedules, budgets, and reporting.

Workplace Standards (20%)
  • Maintain workplace design and furniture standards.
  • Support hybrid work and consistent brand expression.

Facilities Operations (20%)
  • Oversee maintenance vendors and property management relationships.
  • Support facilities budgets and capital replacement planning.

Governance (10%)
  • Maintain portfolio reporting, project dashboards, and executive updates.

Minimum Requirements
  • 8-12 years of corporate real estate, workplace, construction, owner's representative, or related experience.
  • Experience managing multi-site office portfolios and capital projects.
  • Strong executive communication and independent judgment.
  • Ability to travel between our offices.

Desired Qualifications
  • Experience working in a professional services firm (architecture, engineering, consulting, or law).
  • Knowledge of workplace design standards, furniture systems, and hybrid work space planning.
  • Project management certification (PMP) or construction management experience.
  • Proficiency with project management tools, portfolio tracking software, or facilities management platforms.
  • Background in facilities operations, maintenance vendor management, or capital planning.
