Role Overview

Serving as a critical function of the Corporate Quality team, this role provides high-level oversight, standardization, and rapid-response support across our global Surface Mount Technology (SMT) manufacturing network. The Corporate QMS Auditor acts as the central authority on quality systems, responsible for driving compliance, managing digital quality infrastructure, and elevating the auditing capabilities of individual site teams.

Core Responsibilities

  • Special Audits & Compliance: Lead and execute high-stakes, specialized audits across all manufacturing sites to ensure rigorous alignment with corporate standards and industry-specific regulations.
  • Site Development & Coaching: Train, mentor, and evaluate site-level quality personnel. Develop robust local auditing skills to ensure sites are self-sufficient in maintaining audit readiness.
  • Digital QMS Management: Act as the corporate owner and administrator for QMS digital systems and software. Drive system integration, optimize workflows, and ensure data integrity across the network.
  • Urgent RCCA Deployment: Deploy dynamically to global sites to lead, facilitate, or support urgent Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) activities in response to critical quality escapes or systemic failures.
  • Cross-Standard Integration: Ensure seamless integration and compliance across multiple overlapping industry standards within the SMT environment.


Required Expertise & Qualifications

  • Experience Level: Minimum of 10 years of Lead Auditor experience operating within a large-scale, global Tier 1 EMS organization (comparable in size, volume, and complexity to Celestica).
  • Industry Knowledge: Extensive, hands-on background in Surface Mount Technology (SMT) and Electronics Manufacturing Services (EMS).
  • Regulatory Mastery: Deep, demonstrable auditing and implementation experience across ISO 9001 (General QMS), AS9100 (Aerospace), ISO 13485 (Medical Devices), and NADCAP (Special Processes).
  • Problem Solving: Advanced proficiency in RCCA methodologies (8D, 5 Whys, Fishbone, etc.) and statistical quality tools applied to complex manufacturing escapes.
  • Technical Literacy: Strong administrative and operational experience with modern digital QMS platforms, document control software, and enterprise quality modules.


Physical Demands

  • Sustained visual concentration on small areas, such as monitors, screens
  • Sustained visual concentration on numbers, legal documents
  • The job works in generally good conditions with occasional exposure (10% - 33%) to noise, odours, dust, drafts, chemicals, operating machinery, temperature extremes, hazardous substances, etc.
  • Travel: This role requires extensive domestic and international travel (often on short notice) to support site deployments, high-level audits, and urgent RCCA interventions.


Salary

The stated range includes Base Salary and target Short-Term Incentive (STI) compensation only. A comprehensive benefits package is offered in addition to this range.
