Qualifications

  • Perform additional duties as needed.

Job Description

We are currently seeking a talented and experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to join our dynamic engineering team in Brampton, ON.

Job Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with project engineers on equipment design, layout design and piping design
  • Develop conceptual and detailed designs, including material handling equipment, plant layouts and piping layout, while incorporating engineering changes into existing designs
  • Generate and update detailed engineering documents by using Autodesk Inventor and other 2D and 3D tools for part drawings, assembly drawings, layout drawings, bill of material and equipment manuals
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously and ensure adherence to project schedules
  • Any other duties and responsibilities as assigned.


Qualifications

  • University/College degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
  • Proficient in 2D drafting and 3D modeling using AutoCAD and Inventor
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD Plant 3D - Navisworks and Autodesk Vault is an asset
  • Experience in material handling or heavy machinery design is an asset.
  • Knowledge of piping design standards, P&ID and experience in piping layout design is an asset.
  • Ability to function and complete tasks independently
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy, with excellent drafting technique and practice, including GD&T
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
