WeirFoulds LLP is seeking a mid to senior level associate to join our thriving Corporate Practice Group.

The ideal candidate will have:
  • 4-6 years of experience with a variety of corporate commercial matters and private M&A
  • Strong technical, analytical, drafting and organizational skills
  • Meaningful experience with mergers and acquisitions, corporate financing transactions, general corporate matters, corporate organization and reorganizations, and drafting and negotiating commercial agreements
  • A proactive approach to practice management with strong attention to detail and client reporting
  • Ability to work with lawyers at all levels and be a team player
  • Experience working with Closing Folders is an asset
  • Strong client service skills and demonstrated strengths in entrepreneurialism and building and developing client relationships

In this role, you will work closely with senior lawyers on complex corporate-commercial matters and private M&A transactions for clients that include start-ups, entrepreneurial companies, established businesses, and Canadian subsidiaries of U.S.-based and multinational corporations. You will have meaningful responsibility on files, regular client contact, and the opportunity to deepen your skill set across the full deal cycle-from initial structuring and diligence through signing, closing, and post-closing integration.

WeirFoulds LLP delivers practical, business-minded advice with the rigour and service standards expected by sophisticated clients. We are looking for a self-starter who is eager to take ownership, deliver excellent work product, and help drive transactions forward. If you are seeking high-calibre corporate work, the chance to take on real responsibility in a supportive and collegial environment, and a platform to build your practice, we would welcome the opportunity to connect.

Please submit your application online, including a cover letter, resume, brief deal sheet and transcripts.

This role is a replacement.

The salary will be commensurate with the successful candidate's skills, experience, and qualifications.

We thank all candidates for their interest; however, only those selected for further consideration will be contacted.
