Overview

Assists the Chief Legal Officer and the PHC Legal Department in providing advice and counsel to all affiliates, including hospital operators and employed physician practices. Provides legal advice in the areas of physician and vendor contract review, real property and leases, mergers and acquisitions, claims management, litigation management, and medical staff matters. Reviews and advises on the development and implementation of internal policies and procedures. Assists with the coordination of outside counsel resources.

Responsibilities

Qualifications

Education
  • JD from accredited law school Required
Work Experience
  • 5 years of professional work experience, including experience as an in-house counsel with a for-profit or not-for-profit health care system and/or with a major law firm dealing with health care contracting, legal and compliance issues, including experience dealing with government regulations relating to contracting, health care law and compliance program implementation, and general statutory issues Required
  • Experience in legal research and legal agreement drafting Required
Licenses and Certifications
  • Admission to State Bar Upon Hire Required
  • Georgia State Bar Preferred
