Full Job Description
Position Overview

ATLAS SP Legal provides legal counsel to ATLAS SP. This role is for a Vice President-level position to provide cross-functional strategic and legal advice with significant autonomy and ownership.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Support the structuring, entity formation, and related tax considerations of a highly complex private fund and monitor the global regulatory landscape affecting funds and specialty finance companies.
  • Advise on securities matters and capital markets transactions, including bond issuances and related workstreams.
  • Collaborate with compliance, risk, and other control functions on corporate governance, board and committee activity, legal risk governance, and regulatory oversight.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate enterprise-level agreements, evaluating strategic risks and legal exposure across business lines to align with internal policies and commercial objectives.
  • Lead special projects, cross-functional assignments, and other legal department initiatives.

Qualifications and Experience
  • 3-10 years of progressive experience in private funds, capital markets, or general corporate law.
  • J.D. from an accredited law school; licensed or qualified to practice law in the United States.
  • Strong commitment to continuous learning and a growth mindset, coupled with a desire to understand the broader business context and evaluate risk holistically beyond purely legal considerations.
  • Ability to collaborate across functions and teams while consistently meeting deadlines across multiple concurrent workstreams with minimal oversight.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; skilled in explaining complex issues to non-lawyers.
  • Friendly, team-oriented, collegial, and supportive of others' success.


Base Salary Range

$150,000-$250,000

The base salary range for this position is listed above. This position is also eligible for a discretionary annual bonus based on personal, team, and Firm performance. Compensation ranges are based on several factors including job function, level, and geographic location. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors including candidate experience and expertise and may vary from the amounts listed here.
