Coordinator of Projects

LOCATION OF WORK

Administrative Centre - Mistissini

NATURE OF WORK

Reporting to the Director of Material Resources Services (MRS), the Project controller/Coordinator is tasked with monitoring the timelines, scopes, and budgets of construction projects identified by the Cree School Board (CSB).

CHARACTERISTIC FUNCTIONS

Oversee project control of all the CSB construction projects and have regular follow-up with project managers.

Monitor project progress and reports to the director, more precisely monitor that:
  • project scopes align with allocated budgets;
  • budgets are respected;
  • project timelines are met;
  • the communication plan is applied.

Participate in the assignment of projects to Project Managers.

Contribute to feasibility studies for prospective projects.

Supervise the professional's activities in preparing plans and specifications of all project phases that are assigned to them.

Generate regular detailed reports on project progress that is assigned to them.

Ensure timely production of necessary documents for management review.

Collaborate with Project Managers regarding reporting for Major Capital Projects exceeding $50M.

Collaborate in the production of the Cash Flow and prepare project-related presentation materials.

Participate in project meetings to stay informed about scope changes, cost impacts, schedule change and overall progress.

Participate debriefing at the end of each project.

Communication effectively with project managers and stakeholders.

Collaborate in the recommendation of projects and collaborate on project charter creation with relevant stakeholders.

Facilitate proper handover of projects to local teams in collaboration with project managers and skateholders during the final phase.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

University graduate degree in engineering or architecture with over 5 years of relevant experience OR a College (Cégep) degree in a related technical field (engineering, architecture, building mechanics, etc.) and over 10 years of relevant experience is normally required.

Project Management Professional Certificate (PMP) is a major asset.

MS Projects, AutoCAD, Office and Ministry of Education procedures knowledge are an asset.

Must be fluent in French.

Ability to work in both French & English is an asset.

Ability to speak Cree is an important asset.

Hold a valid driver's license is required.

Be available and willing to travel on a regular basis.

EMPLOYMENT CONDITIONS*

Full time permanent.

35 hours/week

*Benefits and working conditions according to the By-Law regarding the Conditions of Employment of Management and according to internal procedures.

*The holder of the position may be entitled to certain benefits (vacation, statutory holidays, Northern allowance, housing and outings).

*Given the current salary regulations and guidelines at the Cree School Board, candidates from another Quebec School Board will be able to obtain a salary as per the scale above-mentioned. However, candidates that are not from the education sector are not eligible to a salary above the midpoint of the position's salary scale
