Controls Engineer - Systems Integration (Intermediate)

Key ResponsibilitiesAs a Controls Engineer, you will support controls and automation projects across a variety of industries.
- Programming of PLC, HMI and SCADA systems for continuous, discrete and batch processes.
- Industrial network specification and design (Ethernet, Modbus, IO-Link, etc.).
- Collaboration with other disciplines (Process Design, Electrical Design) to identify control system specifications.
- Ability to read and interpret P&IDs and other process design documentation to assist in control system specifications.
- Generate and maintain necessary documentation, including I/O Lists, Process Narratives, Functional Design Specifications, Commissioning Forms, etc., dependent upon customer requirements.
- Provide commissioning and startup services.
- Electrical troubleshooting and ability to commission and configure a wide range of control equipment (VFDs, transmitters, etc.).
- Assist in control panel design and equipment specification, ensuring compliance with applicable codes (NEC, UL508A) and standards.
QualificationsEducation:- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, Computer Science, or Chemical Engineering required.
Experience:- Minimum of 2 years in an industrial controls (end-user or OEM), or system integration/consulting role as a controls engineer.
Technical Expertise:- Experience with Allen-Bradley PLC's, HMI's and programming software required
Desired Technical Expertise:- Experience in any of the following HMI/SCADA software is desirable: Inductive Automaton Ignition, AVEVA Wonderware, GE iFix
- Experience with Siemens SIMATIC controllers and STEP 7 programming software
- Experience in the use and configuration of historians (FactoryTalk Historian, OSISoft PI)
- Experience with OPC Servers (Kepware, Matrikon), Databases (SQL)
- Proficiency in managing tasks within integration projects, including client coordination, system design, and deliverable preparation.
- Proficiency in control panel design, network design, and component selection
Additional Skills:- Strong leadership and organizational abilities with a focus on relationship management.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
