Position Overview

dormakaba is seeking a Controls Engineer based in Indianapolis, IN. The Controls Engineer is responsible for ensuring plants create the best products possible in the most efficient manner. The Controls Engineer will serve as an Subject Matter Expert utilizing their Electrical Controls knowledge to analyze, examine and improve processes in order to increase productivity.

HIRING SALARY RANGE: Base Salary $90,000 - $115,000 (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.) Please visit our career site for more information on benefits.

What you will do
  • Analyze plant equipment controls processes, design, and implement improvements
  • Troubleshoot issues with hardware/software/programs and processes interacting with manufacturing equipment
  • Interact with Allen Bradly, Siemens, and Fanuc controls systems
  • Work with others to detect problems and implement solutions
  • Learn and train associates in the correct usage of Machine Controls for assigned functions


What we require
  • 2+ years' experience in a related field
  • Bachelor's degree in controls, engineering, electrical, and manufacturing preferred or an equivalent combination of work experience and/or technical certificates
  • Ability to read/write ladder logic
  • Ability to create PLC code from scratch and actively troubleshoot during installation
  • Physical demands: must be able to walk, stand, and sit for extended periods of time, and be able to lift up to 40 pounds
