Pay Range: $87,000 - $118,000 depending on relevant experience and qualifications

The Process Automation Engineer provides ownership or custodian support for site process automation and data collection systems for PGT Venice manufacturing operations. Partnering with operations, engineering, IT, and maintenance functions will be critical to effectively supporting these site systems. This position provides technical mentoring and coaching for the process automation staff. This position requires direct technical support of process automation systems and projects

Responsibilities

Manage and oversee 24/7 support of site process automation and data collection systems for manufacturing and utilities systems
  • Own the commissioning and qualification process for process automation systems; develop and ensure compliance with established local quality standards
  • Develop, maintain, and implement the process automation functional agenda for the site
  • Ensure function is aligned and driven to meet engineering goals, and partner with Quality, Engineering, and Operations leadership to deliver operational results
  • Function as system owner for exclusive process automation systems not assigned to other engineering or operations functions
  • Assign resources to provide system custodianship for site process automation and data collection systems
  • Own and manage site procedures and technical standards for the automation function
  • Direct and oversee continuous improvement and recapitalization of owned and custodianed systems for the site
  • Direct and oversee root cause investigations of owned and custodianed system nonconformances
  • Provide management support for automation contractor personnel


Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering: preferably Electrical, Mechanical, or related field, or extensive experience in similar roles
  • Minimum 10 years' manufacturing experience: automation, process, plant, project delivery, or related areas
  • Software proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Proficiency in programming process automation systems including common PLC and SCADA platforms
  • Strong communication and networking skills
  • Knowledge of manufacturing safety requirements for automated systems


Travel requirements

Ability to travel occasionally domestically (up to 30%)
