Manufacturing Automation & Controls Engineer
Location: Watertown, CT
Salary: $90k - $100K Base + Bonus
We've partnered with a global automotive manufacturer currently looking to add a hands-on Manufacturing Automation & Controls Engineer to support production automation, machine builds, controls troubleshooting, and continuous improvement initiatives within a high-volume manufacturing environment.
This is a strong fit for engineers who enjoy being directly involved on the plant floor and working across controls, manufacturing engineering, robotics, and process optimization.
Key Responsibilities:
• Support automation, controls, and manufacturing engineering projects across production equipment
• Troubleshoot and debug PLCs, HMIs, servo systems, robotics, and plant-floor automation systems
• Lead equipment upgrades, retrofits, and continuous improvement initiatives
• Support machine builds, commissioning, launch activities, and post-launch optimization
• Integrate vision systems, process monitoring, and motion control technologies into production lines
Technical Environment:
• Allen-Bradley PLCs / Studio 5000
• Kinetix Motion Control
• FactoryTalk HMIs
• Robotics (FANUC / ABB / UR a plus)
• Vision Systems / Cognex
• Ladder Logic Programming
• Manufacturing Troubleshooting
• Lean Manufacturing / Continuous Improvement
Ideal Background (What they're looking for):
• 2+ years within manufacturing, automation, controls, or industrial engineering environments
• Strong hands-on troubleshooting and controls support experience
• Experience within high-volume manufacturing, automotive, advanced manufacturing, or machine automation environments
• Comfortable supporting projects from concept through implementation
