Full Job Description
Our Opportunity: Controls Engineer

Status: Full Time Day Shift

Hours: 8-hour shift

Schedule: Monday-Friday

Summary:

The Controls Engineer designs, implements, and maintains electrical and electronic processes in order to increase productivity and efficiency throughout the plant.

What You Will Be Doing
  • Design, program, and troubleshoot PLC-based control systems (Allen-Bradley, or similar).
  • Develop and configure HMI/SCADA applications to monitor and control equipment and processes.
  • Specify and integrate sensors, drives, actuators, and other control hardware.
  • Support the installation, startup, and commissioning of new equipment and upgrades.
  • Maintain and improve existing control systems to enhance safety, quality, and productivity.
  • Create and maintain electrical schematics, control panel layouts, and documentation.
  • Collaborate with engineering, maintenance, and production to deliver projects on time and within budget.
  • Provide technical support to maintenance and operations teams, including training when needed.
  • Observes functioning of installed equipment or system to detect hazards and need for adjustments, relocation, or replacement.
  • Plans repair to faulty equipment or systems and obtain or provide recommendations for updates.
  • Recommend new policies or procedures as necessary.
  • Plan for execution of engineering schedules
  • Create process specification and design standards.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.

What You Need to Bring
  • Bachelor's Degree; or seven years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proficiency with PLC programming languages (ladder logic, structured text).
  • Experience configuring HMI/SCADA software.
  • Working knowledge of industrial networks and protocols (Ethernet/IP, Modbus, Profibus).
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical and P&ID drawings.
