Full Job Description
We are seeking a Controller to join our team! This position reports to the VP of Finance and Accounting. The Controller plans, directs, and oversees the accounting operations of the company. This role is responsible for financial reporting, internal controls, budgeting, and accounting compliance while supporting leadership with financial analysis and strategic planning. The Controller works closely with executive leadership and department managers to ensure financial accuracy, operational efficiency, and informed business decision-making. Responsibilities: • Oversees the operations of the Accounting Department, which includes, but is not limited to, A/R, A/P, Cost Accounting, Payroll, and Financial Reporting. • Oversees the accounting staff including employee development, motivation, mentoring, training, recruitment and selection. • Maintains a documented system of accounting policies and procedures; implements a system of controls over accounting transactions to minimize risk. • Oversees the production of periodic financial reports; ensures that the reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles or international financial reporting standards. • Recommends benchmarks that will be used to measure the company's performance. • Work with staff to produce the annual budget and forecasts; reports significant budget differences to leadership. • Provides financial analysis as requested and needed for best interest of the company • Works with external auditors and provides needed information for audits. • Works with outside CPA firm in the filing of quarterly and annual payroll reports. • Works with outside CPA firm in providing supporting documentation for tax preparation and any other needed documents, reports, information, etc for the CPA relationship. • Ensures compliance with local, state, and federal government requirements. • Support the VP with financial recordkeeping and associated functions • Performs other related duties as necessary or assigned.
