Job Title: Controller

Department: Accounting

Reports To: Chief Financial Officer

FLSA Status: Exempt

About the Role:

Frenchman's Creek Beach & Country Club is seeking an experienced, hands-on Controller to lead the Club's accounting function. This is not a traditional Controller role-it is a high-impact leadership position requiring both operational excellence and the ability to strengthen processes, systems, and team performance in an elite private club environment.

Reporting to the CFO, the Controller will oversee the monthly close, financial reporting, and accounting team while serving as a key partner to department leaders across the Club.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the Financial Close: Own and drive the monthly close process, ensuring timely, accurate financial statements and reporting.
  • Manage & Develop the Team: Supervise and mentor accounting staff (Assistant Controller, Payroll, AR/AP), establishing accountability and high-performance standards.
  • Partner Across the Club: Work closely with department leaders to review results, analyze variances, and enforce financial discipline and accountability.
  • Strengthen Systems & Processes: Improve and standardize workflows, processes, internal controls, and reporting.
  • Support Planning & Cash Management: Assist with budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and capital tracking.
  • Audit & Compliance: Lead the annual audit and 401(k) audit processes and serve as the primary liaison with external auditors.
