Overview

Responsible for the company's fiscal record keeping. Directs the preparation of all fiscal reporting such as cost accounting, budgets, and regulatory reports. Prepares reports for top management. Safeguards the assets of the Bank. In conjunction with Human Resources, recommends personnel related actions, including hiring, firing, promotions, status changes and performance evaluations.

 

What You'll Do:

  • Administers the bank’s accounting system to maintain financial records:
    • Develops plans and recommends practices and procedures for the proper financial control of the bank.
    • Administers uniform accounts systems for cost accounting, general accounting and budgetary purposes.
    • Oversees that accounts payable process.
    • Prepares monthly and periodic financial reports, maintains accounting records, reconciles accounts, reviews and adjusts accruals.
  • Coordinates the accounting activities of the bank with other departments.
  • Guides financial decisions by establishing, monitoring and enforcing policies and procedures.
  • Ensures that all financial reports are prepared and submitted to management, regulatory and governmental agencies as required.
  • Provides management with budget reporting and analyzes on a departmental or division basis.
  • Provides status of financial condition by collecting, interpreting, and reporting financial data
  • Prepares budgets by establishing schedules; collecting, analyzing, and consolidating financial data; recommending plans.
  • In conjunction with Human Resources, develops, evaluates, compensates, promotes and terminates staff. Properly documents all actions. Responsible for coaching, developing and providing performance feedback.
  • Performs other duties as required or directed by the CFO.

 

Qualifications
  • At least 10 years in Bank accounting at a supervisory level 
  • Experienced working with upper management, with excellent communications skills and a strategic approach to problem solving.
  • Requires a broad knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles.
  • Analytical and problem solving skills required.
  • Experience manipulating and analyzing large raw data sets.
  • Experience managing, developing, and leading an accounting department.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Advanced MS Excel skills required.
  • Must have proficiency in business software applications, including but not limited to: the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint).
Education
  • Bachelor's Degree in in Business, Accounting, Finance or an equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
