Soni is partnered with a leading manufacturing company in New Jersey, seeking a
Controller to lead the organization's accounting and financial reporting functions. This role will oversee the monthly close, financial reporting, internal controls, cash management, and day-to-day accounting operations while partnering with executive leadership to drive process improvements and support strategic business initiatives.
Responsibilities:- Lead all day-to-day accounting operations, including General Ledger, AP, AR, Fixed Assets, Inventory, Payroll, and Financial Reporting.
- Oversee the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process, ensuring timely and accurate financial statements.
- Manage cash flow, treasury activities, and working capital reporting.
- Maintain the integrity of the general ledger and ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP.
- Develop and enhance internal controls, accounting policies, and financial processes.
- Partner with operations to support inventory, manufacturing, and cost accounting initiatives.
- Coordinate annual audits and serve as the primary liaison with external auditors and tax advisors.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis in partnership with executive leadership.
- Lead ERP optimization and identify opportunities to improve accounting systems and reporting efficiency.
- Prepare management reporting packages, KPI dashboards, and ad hoc financial analyses.
- Hire, mentor, and develop the accounting team while fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Operations, HR, Sales, and Leadership to support company objectives.
Requirements:- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA preferred.
- 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership responsibilities.
- Manufacturing industry experience required.
- Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls.
- Experience with SOX compliance and external audit support preferred.
- Hands-on experience with month-end close, budgeting, forecasting, and financial statement preparation.
- Experience with inventory, cost accounting, and ERP systems.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and strong analytical abilities.
- Proven leadership, communication, and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Process improvement mindset with a focus on operational efficiency and continuous improvement.
Compensation: $150,000 - $170,000
Salary is based on a range of factors that include relevant experience, knowledge, skills, other job-related qualifications.
