Controller
Reporting to the Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, the Controller is responsible for the integrity of the College's financial records, accurate and timely financial reporting, and compliance with generally accepted accounting principles and applicable regulatory requirements.
The successful candidate will be able to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and collaborate effectively with colleagues across the College.

- Schedule: 40 hours per week -This position may occasionally require additional hours during month-end and year-end closing, budget development, audits, and other periods of increased activity.
- Location: Media, Pennsylvania (Hybrid)
Key Responsibilities- Manage the month-end and year-end closing processes, including the preparation of accurate and timely monthly and annual financial statements.
- Maintain the general ledger and ensure that financial transactions are recorded accurately and in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles.
- Oversee general accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll accounting, and account reconciliations.
- Perform daily reconciliations of the College's cash and investment accounts.
- Maintain accurate fixed-asset records and related depreciation schedules.
- Support the development and monitoring of the College's annual operating and capital budgets.
- Prepare and submit required financial reports, surveys, and data requests, including IPEDS and other state and federal reporting requirements.
- Coordinate the College's annual financial and retirement-plan audits, including preparing schedules and supporting documentation and handling routine auditor requests and correspondence.
- Establish, maintain, and continuously improve internal controls, accounting policies, and financial procedures.
- Provide responsive and professional support to departments throughout the College.
- Assist the CFO with financial analysis, reporting, and special projects as needed.
- Manage multiple responsibilities effectively while consistently meeting established deadlines.
Required Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a closely related field.
- Active Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license.
- At least five years of progressively responsible accounting experience.
- Demonstrated experience preparing financial statements, managing month-end closing, and supporting or coordinating external audits.
- Strong knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles, financial controls, and accounting practices.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications- Accounting experience within a nonprofit or higher education institution.
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics GP/Great Plains, Anthology, or comparable financial and student information systems.
