Responsibilities

Description

This role is responsible for overseeing financial accounting operations, maintaining the integrity of the general ledger, supporting regulatory reporting, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and financial regulations.

The ideal candidate will bring strong accounting expertise, leadership capability, and the ability to collaborate across departments while supporting the financial success of the organization.
Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee preparation of financial accounting records and NCUA Call Reporting.
  • Maintain the Credit Union's core general ledger structure and review reconciliations prepared by accounting staff and other departments.
  • Monitor and track reconciliation programs to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Serve as backup to the CFO when needed, including presenting financials during Board meetings.
  • Assist with development and implementation of procedures and process improvements to enhance efficiency and strengthen controls.
  • Identify issues, recommend solutions, and communicate effectively with all levels of the organization, including executive leadership.
  • Support internal and external audits and examinations by preparing required documentation.
  • Participate in special projects and additional finance initiatives as assigned.


Requirements

What We're Looking For
  • 5-8 years of similar accounting or finance experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
  • CPA and/or Master's degree preferred.
  • Financial institution experience required; credit union experience preferred.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and regulatory compliance.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills and ability to quickly adapt to new systems and applications.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
