Job Description
The North America Engineering Controller is responsible for the monthly activities of our Engineering Seating and Safety BU's including month-end close accounting journal entries, month-end variance analysis, monthly forecasts including Income Statement, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow, yearly profit plans, yearly business plans, ad-hoc reporting, and monthly Balance Sheet account reconciliations. The Controller will work closely with each BU's Engineers on purchase requisition creation and various approvals, and the ENG and BU Directors on expense and headcount strategy, and cross charges.
Main Responsibilities
1. Create and post month-end close journal entries
2. Prepare post month-end analyses including Ops, KPI's, bridges, and expense analysis
3. Timely reporting of all key financial information for both business units
4. Continuously improve financial reporting analyses
5. React timely on any requests from external parties
6. Work with BU Directors to obtain TBL for use in development and loading of yearly profit plan including maintenance of all working files including multiple revisions and details for all assumptions. This includes P&L, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow forecasting
7. Work with BU Directors to obtain TBL for use in development and loading of yearly business plan including maintenance of working files including multiple revisions and details for all assumptions. This includes P&L, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow forecasting
8. Leverage knowledge regarding program spend, open PO's, and HR requirements to develop monthly Outlooks and 12 month forecasts. This includes P&L, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow forecasting
9. Use the published freight files and freight run rate to develop freight Outlooks for incorporation into Outlooks and forecasts.
10. Work with related parties to ensure proper IC3 postings
11. Prepare monthly Balance Sheet account reconciliations. Approve BS reconciliations from other ENG ledgers.
12. Preparation of half yearly Financial Statement footnotes

Specific Requirements:
Education
Degree in Business Administration or adequate professional experience focusing on financial/controlling especially accounting, finance, controlling
Work Experience
• Minimum of 5-7 years of relevant experience in an industrial company, preferably in the automotive sector
• Strong financial analysis and planning background and accuracy, MS-Office, QAD & Hyperion experience
Qualifications
• Experience with US GAAP and PRC Statutory Accounting Rules
• Financial Statement Preparation and Analysis Experience Required
• Extensive Knowledge of and Experience with Internal Controls is required
• Prior Experience in a Technical Accounting Role is Preferred
• Experience with ERP systems (SAP, QAD) and Consolidation tools (HFM) required
• Ability to communicate technical information to nontechnical audience.
• Ability to sort and manipulate large amounts of data.
• High aptitude for problem solving in order to resolve business, financial, customer, and organizational issues.
• Proven interpersonal and teamwork skills.
• Must possess highly effective analytical skills in areas of accounting, finance, critical thinking, analysis and communication.
