Qualifications:
The ideal Controller will drive process standardization, financial accuracy, and continuous improvement across the accounting function. This individual will understand the intricacies of the business and align accounting processes to ensure transactions and financial reporting are accurate and compliant with U.S. GAAP. The Controller must be detail- and results-oriented while exercising sound judgment based on materiality, risk, and business impact. The successful candidate will embrace technology, including AI-enabled tools, automation, and data analytics, to improve the efficiency, accuracy, and scalability of financial processes while maintaining appropriate internal controls, data security, confidentiality, and human review.
This financial savvy individual must also be a great leader and able to communicate with both the executive leadership team and production floor associates. Being a team player and a leader focused on talent development is vitally important in this growing and dynamic company.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Oversee all accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems, ensuring compliance with appropriate US GAAP standards and regulatory requirements
- Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting activities, including leading a monthly financial review meeting with departmental owners and executives. Ensure all accounting and reporting is accurate including the preparation of monthly financial statements.
- Perform periodic in-depth analysis on key financial and operational metrics reported to the executive management
- Coordinate external financial statement reviews, benefit-plan audits, and other financial examinations; serve as the primary accounting liaison with external auditors and ensure timely delivery of requested schedules and documentation
- Coordinate with the Company's external CPA firm on the preparation and timely filing of federal, state, and local income and related business tax returns and payments applicable to the Company and its LLC tax structure.
- Oversee and maintain capital expenditure budgets and construction in progress tracking
- Oversee the Company's perpetual inventory ledgers, including standard costing, physical inventories and production reporting
Essential Duties and Responsibilities, cont:- Lead continuous improvement across accounting and related business processes, including identifying, evaluating, and implementing appropriate AI-enabled tools, automation, and data analytics. Establish appropriate controls for data confidentiality, output validation, documentation, approval, and ongoing monitoring.
- Assist with quarterly and annual budget preparation and sales forecasting models
- Support cash-flow forecasting and working-capital management, including analysis of receivables, payables, inventory, capital expenditures, and other significant cash requirements.
- Maintain oversight of internal controls over financial reporting and drive process mapping and documentation efforts
- Lead adoption of new accounting standards and pronouncements
- Participate in special projects as needed
- Support and backup CFO and accounting team members as needed or required
Skills, Qualifications, Education and/or Relevant Experience:
Education/Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a closely related field; an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be considered.
- Certified public accountant or certified management accountant (or in process of obtaining) preferred
Experience
- Seven or more years of progressive accounting experience, including at least three years in an accounting leadership or management role
- Experience in either public accounting or a corporate accounting environment
- Experience with manufacturing accounting, standard costing and inventory controls
- Management experience leading teams of two to five team members
Skills/Work Requirements
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft 365, particularly Excel, and working knowledge of ERP systems, databases, reporting platforms, automation tools, and AI-enabled business applications; demonstrated ability to learn and responsibly implement new technology
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and time sensitive work that can change rapidly
- Knowledge of US GAAP accounting and internal controls over financial reporting
- Demonstrated leadership skills as well as excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) while in production areas
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Oversight of a team of 3-4 accountants plus others involved in financial reporting activities. Direct report will be an Accounting Manager and and based on experience an Inventory Control Manager.
