We need someone who can operate at every level of the finance function - from day-today bookkeeping to leading month-end and year-end close, coordinating the audit, and ultimately providing strategic financial leadership. Depending on your background, you may start as a true "player-coach," doing the detailed work yourself while building the systems and processes the company will need as it grows, or you may already be equipped to take on that broader leadership role from day one.
Key Responsibilities
- Own full-cycle bookkeeping and general ledger accuracy
- Lead month-end and year-end close processes
- Prepare financial statements and management reporting packages
- Coordinate directly with external auditors and manage the annual audit
- Manage payroll processing and compliance (ADP or similar)
- Maintain and improve internal controls and accounting policies
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management
- Partner with leadership on financial planning as the role expands toward CFO responsibilities
- Evaluate and optimize financial systems and reporting tools over time
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Controller, Senior Accountant, or similar progressive accounting role
- Strong working knowledge of QuickBooks required
- Experience with DataRails (or similar FP&A/reporting tools) strongly preferred
- Familiarity with ADP or comparable payroll systems
- Demonstrated experience managing external audit relationships
- CPA or CPA track preferred
- Public accounting experience is a plus
- GAAP proficient
- Excellent organizational skills and comfort working in a small-company environment where you'll wear multiple hats
- Prior experience as CFO of a small company is a plus, but not required - we're equally interested in Controllers ready to grow into that role
