Position Title: Controller
We are seeking a hands-on Controller to oversee the full accounting and financial operations of a small, growing organization with a portfolio spanning solar, wind, battery storage, and other renewable energy projects. This role will manage everything from day-to-day accounting and financial reporting to project accounting, cash flow, audits, compliance, and project financing support.
The ideal candidate is an experienced accounting professional who thrives in a smaller company environment, enjoys being close to the details, and is comfortable wearing multiple hats. Salary Range: $120,000 $130,000 / Year, DOE
Responsibilities - Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger accounting
- Lead month-end close and prepare accurate financial statements and reporting
- Manage project accounting, budgets, cost tracking, invoicing, and cash flow
- Support renewable energy project financing and related financial activities
- Manage payroll administration, payroll taxes and other financial compliance requirements
- Oversee banking relationships, taxes, audits, and coordination with external accountants, auditors, and tax advisors
- Maintain strong internal controls and ensure compliance with GAAP and applicable corporate requirements
- Support the administration of insurance, health and retirement plans as needed
Requirements - 7+ years of progressive accounting experience
- 2+ years of experience as a Controller or Assistant Controller
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Experience within renewable energy, infrastructure, or real estate development
- Experience with project financing, tax equity, power purchase agreements, or similar contractual structures
- Proficiency with accounting platforms such as NetSuite, Sage Intacct, or comparable systems
- Strong hands-on accounting skills with the flexibility to manage both strategic and day-to-day responsibilities
