Full Job Description
We are seeking a strategic and hands-on Controller to lead the Finance and Accounting function for our Cookeville, TN operations and support our Flagstaff, AZ facility. As the senior accounting leader for the business, you will be responsible for ensuring the integrity, accuracy, and timeliness of all financial reporting while maintaining strong internal controls and compliance with corporate standards, local statutory requirements, and U.S. GAAP. This key leadership role oversees all aspects of accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general accounting, financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting, cash flow management, and financial analysis. Working closely with the Vice President of Finance and cross-functional business leaders, you will provide financial insight and strategic decision support, lead the annual budgeting and forecasting processes, manage external audits, and drive continuous improvement initiatives across finance processes and controls. The successful candidate will be a collaborative leader with a proven ability to develop high-performing teams, influence business decisions, and contribute to the organization's long-term financial success. Occasional travel between facilities is required.
So, what will you be doing as a Controller?
• Lead the full scope of accounting processes for a branch or collection of branches.
• Lead the financial close and reconciliation process, accountable for accuracy and compliance.
• Ensure that local statutory reporting and tax authority requirements are met.
• Ensure that policy and procedures adhere to a system of internal controls and serve as the lead for internal and external audit requirements.
• Serve as a primary point of contact with Corporate Accounting, addressing questions and reporting needs.
• Lead, develop, and coach local accounting team.
• Key role in the financial planning cycle - providing various inputs and performing reviews in the areas of revenue, material, headcount, plant expenses, and working capital (following standard financial planning process flows).
To be successful in this role, you'll need:
• Experience in financial close, internal controls, internal and external audit management, ad hoc analysis, management reporting, accounting standards (GAAP, IFRS), taxation, treasury, working capital, cash flow management, costing and financial planning
• Proficiency in MS Office (Word, PowerPoint). Excellent skill level in Excel required.
• Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize work
• Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
• Strong communication skills and leadership abilities, employee development experience

• 7+ years of finance and accounting experience in a manufacturing environment (aerospace preferred), with at least 3 years of managerial experience
