Full Job Description
We are seeking an EH&S Manager to facilitate the establishment and promotion of a safe and healthy working environment and to recommend measures to reduce or eliminate industrial accidents and health hazards in compliance with OSHA, NIOSH, WA State L&I and EPA regulations at a plant level. Duties include but are not limited to strategic environmental and safety planning for the plant, facility auditing and inspection, standard and regulation interpretation, incident investigation, procuring and revising training materials, and generally ensuring regulatory compliance of the plant.

So, what will you be doing as an EH&S Manager?

  • Manage Environmental, Safety & Health programs within Western Pneumatic Tube Co. to include Environmental, Health and Safety regulations. Includes developing and providing guidance to all managers and supervisors.
  • Ensure compliance with all EH&S current and developing regulations, standards, codes, and key constraints.
  • Manage quarterly, annual, and biennial reporting duties for City, State, and Federal compliance.
  • Provides oversight for environmental operations, wastewater treatment, and hazardous materials operations ensuring that all requirements are met to avoid incidents, violations, and fines.
  • Ensure all permits registrations, and compliance filings are current and submitted on time.
  • Manage L&I / Workers Compensation cases with Human Resources and plant Supervisors.
  • Acts as the primary contact for all employees on incident reporting, investigations and hazard elimination. Tracks activity for lost work time, return to work initiatives and restricted duty provisions.
  • Develop, review, maintain and conduct EH&S program training that are required to enhance EH&S Performance.
  • Conduct audits, inspections, and assessments to identify gaps, implement corrective actions, and verify program effectiveness.
  • Lead emergency preparedness, crisis management, incident response, and workers compensation support activities.
  • Provides strategic direction to sustain a comprehensive system for hazard prevention and control.
  • Lead the annual PPE hazard assessment process and ensure PPE requirements are documented, enforced for each operation.
  • Implement/maintain behavior-based safety program.
  • Recommend measures to help protect workers from potentially hazardous work methods, processes, or materials.
  • Assure proper recordkeeping of results in all areas and develop effective and efficient reporting mechanisms that meet the regulations and inform leadership.


To be successful in this role, you'll need:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and execute tasks accurately in a fast-paced environment
  • Bachelor of Science in Occupation Safety and/or Environmental or related field, preferred
  • Minimum 3 to 5 years of experience and/or exposure in EHS role(s) involving leading, coaching employees, or Safety Committee membership.
  • Ability to interact with all levels of employees
  • Excellent leadership abilities and knowledge of OSHA & EPA requirements
  • Must be extremely knowledgeable with Washington State laws and Washington State Department of Labor & Industries (L&I) requirements
  • Knowledge and experience with Behavior Based Safety techniques
