OVERALL RESPONSIBILITY: The Control Systems Engineer develops, tests, and maintains complex control systems that govern the operation of commercial equipment. This role requires a proficiency in software development and an aptitude for electronics and hands-on hardware testing. They must value both function and form, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver solutions that meet or exceed targets for reliability, safety, features, cost and performance in a manner that is consistent with the company values and operating philosophy.
ACCOUNTABILITIES : - Controls Development - Designs, develops, and continuously improves control systems, inclusive of hardware, software and graphical user interfaces. Translates functional requirements into reliable, safe, and efficient equipment operation with a focus on an exceptional user experience.
- Quality Assurance Testing - Performs hardware qualification and systematic validation to ensure control systems meet quality standards and aligns with user experience goals, ensuring the delivery of a high-quality product to customers.
- Issue Resolution - Troubleshoots, replicates and resolves complex system issues using structured root cause analysis to restore intended functionality and prevent future recurrence.
- Technical Resource - Provides training and support to internal teams and customers. Serves as a subject matter expert delivering timely and effective assistance in a professional and customer focused manner.
- Travel - Willing to travel to support development, training, troubleshooting, testing and data collection activites.
- Documentation - Creates and maintains clear, accurate technical documentation including specifications, changes, and user-facing materials; communicates progress and issues effectively to stakeholders.
QUALIFICATIONS (Education, Certifications and Required Experience) : - Experience troubleshooting controls hardware and software.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mechatronics, Software Engineering or related field.
- Preferred: 3+ years of experience in Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) ladder logic programming, with proficiency in procedural programming (e.g., C) and object-oriented programming (e.g., C++ or C#).

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS : - Repetitive Motion - Substantial movement/motion of the wrists, hands and fingers.
- Sitting - Employee needs to remain seated for extended periods of time.
- Vision - Close visual acuity to perform an activity such as analyzing data, viewing a computer terminal, use of tools, etc.
- Travel - Work requires travel by walking on foot, car or airplane and may include extended periods of walking or sitting.
Salary Description
$100,000 - $122,000 Yearly
