A Snapshot of Your DayAs a Mid-Level Control and Protection Engineer supporting our Remote Operations Center, you'll monitor SCADA systems in real time to ensure the reliable operation of utility and renewable energy assets. Throughout your shift, you'll respond to system alarms, perform initial remote diagnostics, coordinate with field personnel and engineering teams through digital collaboration tools, and escalate critical events as needed. Working as part of a 24/7 operations team, you'll help maintain grid reliability while continuously improving operational processes and response protocols.
How You'll Make an Impact- Perform real-time monitoring of SCADA systems across a diverse portfolio of utility and renewable energy assets.
- Respond to, document, and triage system alarms while conducting initial remote diagnostics and coordinating with field personnel.
- Communicate operational events and critical issues with internal engineering teams and stakeholders using collaboration platforms such as Slack or Microsoft Teams.
- Escalate critical alarms and system events according to established operating procedures to support safe and reliable grid operations.
- Identify recurring system issues and provide operational feedback to engineering teams to improve system performance and alarm management.
- Participate in a rotating shift schedule that provides continuous 24/7 operational coverage for customers.
What You Bring- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, Control Systems Engineering, Power Systems Engineering, or a related technical field.
- 5-7 years of experience in SCADA operations, control and protection systems, power systems, or utility operations.
- Working knowledge of grid operations, substation controls, and energy storage systems (BESS) preferred.
- Experience with real-time monitoring platforms, remote diagnostics tools, and digital collaboration software such as Slack or Microsoft Teams.
- Strong communication, troubleshooting, and multitasking skills with the ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced operational environment.
