Contracts & Procurement Technician

Location: Vancouver, BC, Canada

Role Overview

The Contracts & Procurement (C&P) Technician supports the Teck Projects Group in the coordination, administration, and documentation of Procurement and Contracts activities across large-scale project environments.

This role provides support to commercial processes, project coordination activities, systems administration, and documentation management while helping maintain alignment with company procedures, governance requirements, and project execution needs.

The position is intended to provide broad exposure across both Procurement and Contracts functions within a Projects environment, supporting cross-functional collaboration and effective project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures.
  • Support the Contracts and Procurement teams with day-to-day coordination and commercial administration activities across project portfolios.
  • Assist with the preparation, tracking, filing, and organization of commercial documentation and project records.
  • Support sourcing, tendering, evaluation, award, and post-award contract administration activities.
  • Assist with tracking commercial changes, notices, change orders, and related project correspondence.
  • Support vendor onboarding, bidder registration, and coordination activities as required.
  • Maintain commercial logs, trackers, commitment information, and supporting documentation.
  • Support workflow coordination and data entry activities within systems such as Unifier, Aconex, D365, and other project tools.
  • Support preparation of reports, presentations, meeting minutes, and project status updates.
  • Coordinate follow-ups and support communication between project stakeholders and functional teams.
  • Participate in rotational assignments between Procurement and Contracts to gain broader exposure to both disciplines.
  • Learn and support the end-to-end Contracts & Procurement process within a Projects environment.
  • Support process improvement initiatives, governance activities, and functional alignment efforts as required.
  • Support compliance with company procedures, standards, approvals, and project governance requirements.
  • Maintain proper commercial documentation and audit readiness within approved systems and workflows.


Qualifications

  • Recent graduate or early-career professional in Business Administration, Commercial Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain/Procurement, or Project Management.
  • 0-3 years of experience in administrative, commercial, procurement, contracts, or project support roles.
  • Fluency in both English and Spanish is preferred.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Willingness to learn and work in a collaborative project environment.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and work across different functional areas.
  • Strong attention to detail and coordination skills.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Power BI, Teams).
  • Exposure to project systems such as Unifier, D365, Aconex, or similar platforms is considered an asset.


Pay Range: CAD $76,000 - $94,000 per year

The actual amount offered is determined based on the successful candidate's relevant experience, skills, and competencies and considers internal equity.

About Teck Resources Limited

The Red Dog mine is a large zinc and lead mine in a remote region of Alaska, about 80 miles north of Kotzebue, which is owned and operated by the Canadian mining company Teck Resources. It is located within the boundaries of the Red Dog Mine census-designated place in the Northwest Arctic Borough of the U.S. state of Alaska. The mine is the world's largest producer of zinc and has the world's largest zinc reserves. Red Dog accounts for 10% of the world's zinc production. Red Dog accounted for 55% of the mineral value produced in Alaska in 2008. In 2008 the mine produced 515,200 metric tons of zinc, 122,600 metric tons of lead, and 283 metric tons of silver, for a total metal value of over one billion dollars. At the end of 2008 the mine had reserves of 61,400,000 metric tons of zinc at a grade of 17.1% and 61,400,000 tonnes of lead at a grade of 4.5%, as well as significant additional zinc and lead in the less well-measured resource category. According to a 2007 EPA report, the mine, which produces from an open pit, was mining the Aqqaluk ore body, immediately adjacent to the previous pit. Aqqaluk contains an additional 56 million metric tons of lead and zinc ore. The expansion was expected to keep the mine operating until 2031.:?16
