Full Job Description
The Manager, Contracts will be a working Manager providing the day to day supervision for the contract administration team and also administrating a limited number of DOD and commercial contracts. This person also provides contract team with guidance on contract risk analysis and provides feedback to the Business Unit.
• This position is a working Manager not only providing the day to day supervision for the contract administration team but administrating a limited number of DOD and commercial contracts as well.
• Establishes a high level of team participation and interaction to ensure quality/responsiveness is highest priority in every stage of the contract period of performance.
• Provides leadership to the contracts administration team in the areas of pre and post contract administration functions.
• Provides contract team with guidance on contract risk analysis and provides feedback to the business units.
• Be a generally recognized authority in the discipline of contract administration by persons outside of the Contracts organization
• Provide demonstrated added value to the business operation at the program level.
• Serve as the company's representative to external customer Contracts and procurement personnel.
• Serve as a lead in the development and formalization of the various processes and procedures for the department,
• Ability act as team leader or participate as part of a team in complex negotiations.
• Necessary to insure compliance with company policies and government regulations.
• Other related duties as assigned by supervisor.

• To access product information as needed for cost, pricing and contract negotiation.
• To discuss contract information within the company at all levels as needed.
• To request critical financial information as needed.

Knowledge (Education/License/Certification, Prior Experience)
• Bachelor's degree required (May be waived by the VP & General Counsel)
• Preferred degree in Business Administration, Contract Administration, Economics, Law.
• 15+ years of functional experience using skill set
• 3-5 years of management experience
• 15+ years of industry experience
• Training Pre-requisites (Within One Year of Taking Position):
• ESD
• Safety Training, as dictated by Safety Department
Skills and Abilities
• Advanced and effective oral and written communications skills, including ability to prepare and deliver information concisely orally and in writing.
• Proven ability to write and edit business material. A writing sample will be required.
• Advanced and effective analytical skills and the ability to identify and evaluate business risks.
• Knowledge of and working experience with FAR, DFAR, and UCC.
• Effective written and oral communication skills.
• Team Player with strong interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal guidance.
• Financial understanding of rate structures and pricing strategies.
• Demonstrated ability to handle complex agreements.
• Ability to foster and maintain solid relationships with customers and suppliers.
• Experience with and understanding of international contracting including compliance with ITAR and EAR.
