Full Job Description
We are currently seeking a Contracts andGrants Manager to join our accounting team in Seattle, WA.

What will YOU do?

The Contracts and Grants Manager is responsible for managing existing and new government contracts and grants. Collaborates with government/other funders in support of Sound Generations Programs. Ensures compliance with applicable federal regulations, as well as contract terms and conditions; advise Program Directors and senior management on government contract requirements and procedures; oversees administration of government reporting, and overall supervision of contract reporting and compliance.

Pay Rate: $118,136.00 per year.

Work Schedule: Monday Through Friday, 40 hours per week.

Responsibilities:

  • Review all Contracts and Grants. Identify and clarify funding source(s). Advise CFO, Controller and finance team when new grants are awarded.
  • Ensure Funder's Budget is complete. Verify allowable/included costs. Ensure indirect cost pools and Admin are included to maximum allowability and submit them to Funders.
  • Meet with stakeholders to clarify deliverables, invoicing or financial reporting needs and verify final monitoring requirements. Review financial reporting documents with Budget Lead and Senior Accountant.
  • Prepare and submit timely financial reports to granting organizations. Ensure all reports meet the grantor's requirements and deadlines.
  • Maintain accurate records of all contract/grant-related financial activities including budgets, revenues, and expenditures.
  • Lead initiatives to streamline financial and operational processes related to contract/grants management.
  • Oversee and review allocations, ensuring correct coding, cost center management, and compliance with budgetary constraints. Collaborate with program directors and departments on allocation updates and system coding.
  • Track budget throughout the year to determine if costs need to be moved.
  • Work with Controller to release Restricted revenues based upon expenditures, and work with Budget Leads for approval.
  • Approve POs for monthly or semi-monthly invoicing.
  • Conduct regular internal reviews of contract/grant expenditures to ensure accuracy and adherence to budget guidelines.
  • Provide regular updates to leadership on contract/grant status including available funds, upcoming deadlines, and any risks or issues.
  • Develop, implement, and document robust financial controls for grant-related transactions, ensuring compliance and minimizing risk.
  • Develop a collaborative and effective team in a healthy work environment. Supervise, train and evaluate assigned employees.
  • Provide related schedules for the Single Audit. Assign sample selections to Staff Accountants. Manage grants and receivables for financial audit.


Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field OR four (4) years relevant accounting experience.
  • Four 4 years of experience managing or working with Federal Governmental Contracts/Grants.
  • Two (2) years' experience in a fast-paced accounting environment.
