A Day in the Life
In your role as a Contract Manager at Medtronic, you will embrace a diverse range of duties and opportunities each day. This includes guiding and coaching a team of analysts in their training and development, supporting the analysis, creation, and implementation of go to market pricing and contracting strategies. You will work in close partnership with internal stakeholders such as sales leadership, legal, and project teams, offering insights and advice related to contracts to aid in achieving business goals. You will be tasked with driving changes to boost operational efficiency and addressing intricate, undefined problems through collaboration across the team and business partners. Your role is pivotal in navigating the complexities of contract management and contributing to the company's success.

As a Contract Manager at Medtronic, you will play a crucial role in ensuring effective contract acquisition, fulfillment, and management.

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.

People Leadership
  • Leading efforts to attract, develop, and retain individuals who can make critical contributions to organizational success.
  • Providing leadership and coaching to employees through timely and candid performance evaluations and supporting meaningful career development activities.
  • Leverage resources and adjust staffing levels accordingly to ensure compliance with published service levels and that customer needs are met.

Contract Management
  • Leading a contracting team in executing pricing strategies, analyzing contract requests, evaluating the appropriate contract strategy, redlining term, and executing contracts.
  • Managing the creation and implementation of contracting and sales initiatives, supporting new product launches through go to market strategies, monitoring contract performance, tracking and execution in collaboration with the pricing, sales, marketing, and legal teams.
  • Ensuring adherence of the team to all policies governing pricing approvals, compliance with standard operating procedures, legal templates, and company policies.
  • Act as a strategic partner, providing contract-related insights and guidance to support business objectives.


Project & Process Improvement
  • Provide expert knowledge and insights supporting department projects. Collaborate with teams to develop and review project documentation, training content, and operationalize with the team and business partners.
  • Identify inefficiencies, analyze workflows, and propose enhancements to streamline processes. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement improvements and drive operational excellence.


Must Have: Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Minimum of 5 years relevant experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 3 years prior relevant experience.


Nice to have:
  • Experience reviewing and negotiating commercial contract terms and conditions
  • Experience drafting and redlining agreements using Microsoft Word, CPQ document generation tools, or contract lifecycle management systems
  • Familiarity with standard commercial contract provisions such as liability, rebates, indemnification, payment terms, and termination clauses
  • Experience working within a contracting, legal operations, offer development, or commercial operations environment
  • Background supporting pricing strategies or go-to-market contracting initiatives in partnership with sales, marketing, finance, and legal teams
  • Demonstrated experience providing coaching or functional leadership within a contracts, pricing, or commercial operations team
  • Experience supporting new product launches or commercial initiatives through contract strategy and execution
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple contracts, approvals, and timelines simultaneously
  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders to analyze contract requests and recommend appropriate contracting strategies
  • Exposure to process improvement initiatives focused on increasing contracting efficiency, workflow optimization, or operational scalability
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other business tools used for contract tracking, analysis, and reporting
  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced commercial environment while maintaining accuracy and compliance with company policies

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$122,400.00 - $183,600.00

This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).

The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).

The following benefits and additional compensation are available to those regular employees who work 20+ hours per week: Health, Dental and vision insurance, Health Savings Account, Healthcare Flexible Spending Account, Life insurance, Long-term disability leave, Dependent daycare spending account, Tuition assistance/reimbursement, and Simple Steps (global well-being program).
