Position Overview:

The Continuous Improvement Manager will lead the planning and execution of continuous improvement strategies across P&A Distribution Operation. Partner with senior functional and location leaders to identify, plan and execute continuous improvement projects to support Mercury's goals for safety, quality, service, revenue growth and cost. Foster a culture of continuous improvement through project mentorship and formalized CI training. Execute results orientated strategic CI projects utilizing LSS tools.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead site wide Continuous Improvement (CI) initiatives across the Brownsburg DC to solve critical issues impacting operations.
  • Create and maintain continuous improvement roadmap for operation.
  • Lead the Continuous Improvement (CI) steering committee to support annual financial and employee development goals.
  • Develop and execute Lean Six Sigma strategies aligned with long term business objectives
  • Utilize structured data sets to uncover anomalies, bottlenecks and root causes of operational inefficiencies.
  • Ability to solve complex problems with creative ideas utilizing statistics and excellent communication skills
  • Build data driven business cases and quantify financial benefits from improvement projects
  • Drive employee engagement in continuous improvement activities by building a culture of accountability and data driven decision making.
  • Measure & review processes for effectiveness and benchmark with Industry Best Practice.
  • Provide subject matter expertise on Lean Six Sigma practices and continuous improvement strategies.
  • Coach, counsel and train managers, staff, and associates to apply, support, sustain and develop a CI culture.
  • Manage and motivate teams to challenge the status quo to meet accelerating goals and timelines.
  • Ability to partner with Operations Management, Supervisors, Engineering, Inventory Control, IT, Transportation, and Safety Teams.

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, operations management, supply chain management or related field is required.
  • 4-7 years relevant professional experience with 3-5 years LSS and/or other CI methodologies application.
  • LSS Green belt certification
  • Base understanding of key business drivers (P&L, Overhead, Budget process)
  • Demonstrated proficiency in LSS and continuous improvement application.
  • Drive results through influence, with some prior direct leadership experience


Preferred Qualifications:
  • 5-10 years Operations Management or Industrial Engineering experience
  • Previous experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and Labor Management Systems (LMS)
  • Power BI, Excel and Sequel experience
  • Direct team leadership experience
  • A graduate degree in business or MBA would be beneficial
  • Black Belt, or other Lean/ Six Sigma certification


Working Conditions:
  • Be able to work in a fast-paced environment as business needs dictate.
  • The position will require sitting, standing, and walking in both an office and warehouse environment.
  • Must be able to operate/drive PIT equipment, including reach truck, OP, pallet jack, etc. if/when needed.
  • The position may require moving totes/boxes weighing up to 50 pounds occasionally and up to 20 lbs. frequently, twisting, bending, climbing, grasping, and other repetitive movements.
  • The position will require on-site support between 1st shift work hours Monday - Friday which occasionally could encompass time outside normal 1st shift work hours, weekend work and holidays as operational needs dictate.


The hiring range for this position is $86,500 to $126,800 annually. The actual base pay offered will vary based on multiple factors including job-related knowledge/skills, relevant experience, business needs, and geographic location. Compensation decisions are dependent upon the specifics of the candidate's qualifications and the business context.

In addition to base pay, this position is eligible for an annual discretionary bonus.
