Role Overview:Cisco is looking for a Content Writer to shape clear, consistent, on-brand storytelling across a wide range of formats and channels. In this role, you will translate complex technical and business topics into content that resonates with customers, partners, employees, and industry audiences alike. The ideal candidate is a versatile writer who can move fluidly between content formats and platforms.
Core Responsibilities:- Write and edit content across multiple formats, including video scripts, blog posts, social media copy, executive talking points, presentations, and internal/external communications
- Maintain and evolve brand voice and style guidelines, ensuring consistency across teams and channels
- Follows copywriting best practices and understands audience behaviors and needs with ability to adapt and tailor content as needed
- Translate technical concepts (security, AI, networking, infrastructure) into accessible, audience-appropriate language
- Help create and maintain style guides to ensure content is consistent and clear
- Partner with communications and marketing teams to develop content supporting executive visibility and corporate storytelling initiatives
- Collaborate with designers, video producers, and subject matter experts to bring content to life across formats
- Review and edit content from other contributors to maintain quality and voice consistency
- Manage multiple concurrent projects and deadlines in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment
- Uphold Cisco's guiding principles and brand voice in all communications.
Qualifications:- 8+ years of experience in a communications, media, content role. Experience writing for business or tech media highly desired
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Business, or related field; or equivalent work experience.
- Exceptional writer and storyteller who can persuade audiences to action; ability to connect with audiences with authentic and captivating copy
- Strong command of tone, voice, and editorial judgment, with the ability to adapt style to different channels and audiences without losing brand consistency
- Proficient in AI tools and able to use technology to reimagine processes and drive positive outcomes
- Strong project management skills with the ability to balance concurrent projects.
- Knowledge of Cisco's business, products, and culture is a plus.
- Able to share portfolio or writing samples

Individual pay is determined by the candidate's hiring location, market conditions, job-related skillset, experience, qualifications, education, certifications, and/or training. The full salary range for certain locations is listed below. For locations not listed below, the recruiter can share more details about compensation for the role in your location during the hiring process.
The applicable full salary ranges for this position, by specific state, are listed below:
New York City Metro Area:
$165,200.00 - $240,900.00
Non-Metro New York state & Washington state:
$145,200.00 - $211,700.00
* For quota-based sales roles on Cisco's sales plan, the ranges provided in this posting include base pay and sales target incentive compensation combined.
** Employees in Illinois, whether exempt or non-exempt, will participate in a unique time off program to meet local requirements.
