Full Job Description
The Consulting Services Account Specialist 3 exercises sound judgment and works independently with minimal instruction to lead services sales efforts in their assigned accounts, particularly focusing on professional services within federal agencies. The role develops solutions aligned to customer outcomes, coordinates with delivery and sales teams, and resolves moderately complex service sales issues within their scope of responsibility. The role is responsible for navigating government procurement processes and varying contract types for professional services opportunities.

Note: This role may come into contact with confidential or sensitive customer information requiring special treatment in accordance with Red Hat policies and applicable privacy laws.

What you will do:
  • Own the full services sales lifecycle, from identification to proposal to close, including actively managing and working through complex Request for Proposal (RFP) processes.
  • Build and manage relationships with key stakeholders (executive, technical, and procurement) within assigned accounts.
  • Lead development and presentation of proposals aligned to customer business outcomes across training, consulting, and Technical Account Management (TAM), ensuring alignment with relevant sector requirements.
  • Collaborate with architects and delivery teams to scope and align solutions with capability, managing Statements of Work (SOWs) and labor hours.
  • Maintain and forecast pipeline accurately in Red Hat Sales Cloud, Anaplan, or designated tools.
  • Identify follow-on business opportunities post-delivery to grow account value.


What you will bring:
  • Industry Expertise: Demonstrated experience and deep understanding of professional services within federal and/or financial services organizations.
  • Government Procurement & Contracts: Strong understanding of government procurement processes, compliance requirements, and various contract types.
  • Service Solution Design: Skill in scoping consulting, training, and TAM solutions to meet client business needs, with specific experience managing detailed scopes of work and managing labor hours.
  • Opportunity Management: Independently manage and advance complex sales cycles.
  • Sales Forecasting: Ability to provide accurate forecast inputs aligned to pipeline health.
  • Customer Relationship Management: Manage and maintain key customer stakeholder relationships effectively.
  • Executive Communication: Capability to engage confidently with senior decision-makers.
  • Negotiation: Facilitating contract negotiations and pricing agreements.
  • Delivery Governance: Responsible for delivery plans being properly aligned between customer and delivery team throughout engagement.


The salary range for this position is $189,300.00 - $302,810.00 (inclusive of base pay + target incentive compensation). Actual offer will be based on your qualifications.

Pay Transparency

Red Hat determines compensation based on several factors including but not limited to job location, experience, applicable skills and training, external market value, and internal pay equity. Annual salary is one component of Red Hat's compensation package. This position may also be eligible for bonus, commission, and/or equity. For positions with Remote-US locations, the actual salary range for the position may differ based on location but will be commensurate with job duties and relevant work experience.
