Job DescriptionAs a Consulting Engineer - Wireless to support Service Provider and Enterprise accounts in the Cisco Customer Experience Team:
Responsible for the delivery of Wireless Planning, Design, Implementation & Optimization Services to Cisco's major accounts. Performs architectural planning and design along with configuration and integration support. Also provides operational support for complex, wireless network deployments. Identify & document design/architecture guidelines for global Cisco Services adoption.
Your specific responsibilities will include:Responsible for the delivery of Wireless Planning, Design, Implementation & Optimization Services to Cisco's major accounts. Performs architectural planning and design along with configuration and integration support. Also provides operational support for complex, wireless network deployments. Identify & document design/architecture guidelines for global Cisco Services adoption.
Who you'll work with:You will work with all levels of Customer Experience team, directly with customer's support team and with the Cisco TAC support infrastructure, development engineering and sales teams. You will participate in complex network build, performance engineering, fix and problem resolution for WLAN related projects.
Minimum requirements:- Education & General Experience: Typically requires a BSEE/CS or equivalent plus confirmed ability in a network engineering or telecommunications support environment (MS strongly preferred), along with deep technical account leadership skills.
- Wireless & RF Expertise: In-depth knowledge of Wireless technology-specifically Meraki dashboard-combined with RF Design, Survey/Engineering, and troubleshooting skills using either Ekahau or Hamina.
- Network Build & Deployment: IP Network Design skills, a working understanding of effectively deploying Cisco Spaces within a customer environment, and experience designing and deploying key WLAN applications (Voice over WLAN, Context-Aware Location-Based Services, and Wireless Guest Access).
- Security & Fix: Detailed understanding of WLAN security and network management (including ISE and/or RADIUS services), coupled with expert-level inter-networking solve in a large-scale network environment.
TRAVEL (25%) : Must be available to travel to on-site customer meetings and site specific fix.
The starting salary range posted for this position is $116,000.00 to $156,700.00 and reflects the projected salary range for new hires in this position in U.S. and/or Canada locations, not including incentive compensation*, equity, or benefits.
Individual pay is determined by the candidate's hiring location, market conditions, job-related skillset, experience, qualifications, education, certifications, and/or training. The full salary range for certain locations is listed below. For locations not listed below, the recruiter can share more details about compensation for the role in your location during the hiring process.
The applicable full salary ranges for this position, by specific state, are listed below:
New York City Metro Area:
$137,200.00 - $213,500.00
Non-Metro New York state & Washington state:
$129,200.00 - $191,000.00
* For quota-based sales roles on Cisco's sales plan, the ranges provided in this posting include base pay and sales target incentive compensation combined.
** Employees in Illinois, whether exempt or non-exempt, will participate in a unique time off program to meet local requirements.
