What you'll be doing

The Workforce Strategy & Transformation team is focused on reimagining the future of work to support CIBC's long-term priorities and ensure we have the talent, skills, and capabilities needed for today and tomorrow. As a Consultant, Strategic Workforce Planning (SWP) Analytics, reporting to the AVP, Workforce Strategy & Transformation, you'll play a key role in advancing strategic workforce planning and transformation initiatives through strong data management, analytics, visualization, and insight delivery. You'll lead the end-to-end SWP data and analytics process, helping maintain alignment between Workday workforce data and SWP datasets managed outside of Workday. You'll ensure data integrity by applying consistent definitions, mapping, assumptions, and outputs, while translating complex information into clear, meaningful insights for stakeholders. You'll also look beyond current processes to identify innovative, scalable tools and approaches that enhance enterprise-wide SWP data collection, reporting, and visualization. In addition, you'll support broader team priorities through ad hoc analysis, research, project coordination, executive-ready presentations, and contributions to workforce transformation strategy work.

At CIBC we enable the work environment most optimal for you to thrive in your role. You'll have the flexibility to manage your work activities within a hybrid work arrangement where you'll spend 1-3 days per week on-site, while other days will be remote

How you'll succeed

  • Manage workforce data - Extract, clean, map, reconcile, and validate complex workforce datasets from Workday and SWP sources outside of Workday. Maintain strong documentation, quality controls, and repeatable processes to support planning and executive reporting.
  • Deliver meaningful insights - Translate workforce data into clear analysis, dashboards, and executive-ready reporting that support planning and decision-making. Use strong visualization and storytelling skills to make complex information relevant and actionable.
  • Advance analytics capabilities - Identify opportunities to improve current processes through automation, scalable tools, and modern reporting approaches that strengthen enterprise-wide SWP data collection, access, and self-serve reporting.
  • Support strategic execution - Provide project management and coordination support across Workforce Strategy & Transformation initiatives by helping manage workplans, timelines, dependencies, and key milestones, while identifying risks and roadblocks.
  • Generate research-based analysis - Analyze internal workforce data and external market trends to develop insights that inform workforce transformation strategies and business planning.
  • Build strong partnerships - Collaborate with stakeholders across Human Resources and the business to understand requirements, respond to ad hoc requests, and support shared goals through high-quality analysis and delivery.

Who you are

It's an asset if you have experience with Structured Query Language (SQL), SAS, Databricks, Alteryx, Tableau, or similar tools.
  • You give meaning to data. You enjoy investigating complex problems and making sense of information. You communicate detailed information in a meaningful way. You organize, analyze, and visualize data clearly and accurately, and develop reports, dashboards, and executive-ready materials that support decision-making.
  • You know that details matter. You notice things that others don't. Your critical thinking skills help to inform your decision making.
  • You thrive in ambiguity and are driven by curiosity. You quickly absorb information, explore implications, and turn findings into insights that move work forward.
  • You act like an owner. You thrive when you're empowered to take initiative, go above and beyond, and deliver results.
  • You're motivated by collective success. You know that teamwork can transform a good idea into a great one. You know that an inclusive team that enjoys working together can bring a vision to life.
  • Values matter to you. You bring your real self to work, and you live our values - trust, teamwork, and accountability.
