Full Job Description
FI Consulting is seeking a full-time Data Management Consultant to support the delivery of financial, analytical, and technical support services for our Federal client. This role may be hybrid or remote and may require the occasional in-person presence as directed by our client based in Arlington, VA.

We are looking for a Consultant to assist our data management / data cleansing efforts by directly supporting the Financial Systems Modernization PMO who is responsible for assisting with a large-scale financial system modernization initiative. The responsibilities of this role will include working directly with client-side leadership to determine technical requirements and pinpoint opportunities for improvements to their current technology and processes, as well as working with our PMO to manage work across the project. Experience in areas including federal accounting, data engineering, and project management is strongly preferred.

Required:
  • Experience with SQL and ability to create and comprehend complex queries
  • Experience using Power BI or other business intelligence tools to visualize data
  • Experience with the Agile methodology, drafting stories and using JIRA
  • Familiarity with federal accounting practices and systems
  • Ability to quickly ramp up as a self-starter
  • Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment
  • Experience providing technical leadership to small and medium-sized teams
  • Strong communication skills with attention to details are also paramount to success
  • 2-5 years of experience supporting Federal clients

Responsibilities include:
  • Partnering with client staff to understand needs and gather requirements while working to solve challenges through the development of specific analytical software tools
  • Work collaboratively with the development team to develop solutions and plan workloads
  • Clearly communicating complex, technical concepts to both technical and non-technical clients
  • Provide technical guidance and direct development support as needed
  • Actively seeking out opportunities for FI to expand the solutions we offer to our clients

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelors in Economics, Finance, Accounting, Math, Computer Science or other applicable quantitative or technical field
  • Experience working within an OCFO, supporting Financial System Modernization (FSM) engagements, or with financial and accounting data and processes
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills
  • Able to work in a deadline-driven, project-based environment, where the schedule can be unpredictable
  • High attention to detail and ability to ensure high quality work
  • Team player - willingness to contribute to all tasks needed to accomplish team goals
  • Demonstrated ability to learn and apply new concepts quickly, and to take on a broad range of analytical tasks
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and writing skills
  • Strong interest in technology
  • Desire to work in a fast-paced demanding environment
  • Ability to work independently and within a team
