What you'll be doing

CIBC's Communications team leads enterprise communications across the bank. As a Consultant, Communications, you'll help develop and deliver strategic communications that support CIBC's priorities, strengthen team member engagement, and build understanding of our purpose-driven, growth-oriented direction. Reporting to the Senior Director, Communications, you'll work closely with colleagues across Communications and with partners throughout the bank to execute integrated communications strategies, create compelling content, and support high-impact events and leadership communications. You'll combine strategic thinking with strong execution to write and edit content, provide communications advice, coordinate events, develop multimedia materials, and deliver communications that drive alignment, engagement, and action. In this role, you'll help bring business priorities to life through clear, audience-focused storytelling across a range of channels and formats.

How you'll succeed
  • Strategic communications delivery - Develop and execute communications strategies and plans that align with business priorities and enterprise objectives. Deliver timely, audience-focused communications across channels, including the intranet, employee communities, and internal social platforms.
  • Content development and storytelling - Create high-impact content for internal and external audiences, including speeches, presentations, speaking notes, talking points, video scripts, social content, and digital communications. Translate complex information into clear, relevant, and engaging messages that reflect CIBC's voice and brand.
  • Executive communications support - Shape and deliver executive communications that reflect organizational priorities and support key leadership moments, including town halls, employee forums, and high-profile events. Provide communications advice on messaging, tone, timing, and delivery.
  • Events and engagement - Plan, track, and coordinate communications projects and employee events, including logistics, agendas, materials, and follow-up communications. Partner with stakeholders to deliver engagement activities that reinforce enterprise priorities and strengthen team member connection.
  • Creative collaboration - Develop visual materials such as presentation decks and infographics to support communications, events, and business initiatives. Work with partners across multimedia production, corporate events, intranet, and translation to deliver integrated communications programs.
  • Relationship management - Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and collaborate across teams to advance communications objectives. Identify opportunities to improve the quality, efficiency, and impact of communications over time.


Who you are
  • You have relevant experience. You bring 5+ years of experience in communications, marketing, or a related field. Experience in executive communications and event management is an asset.
  • You're an exceptional communicator. You have strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills, and you can turn complex information into communications that are clear, engaging, and easy to understand.
