CONSTRUCTION TECHNOLOGY MANAGER - Nashville, TN

JOB SUMMARY

The Construction Technology Manager supports the development, maintenance, and optimization of business processes, workflows, and technology solutions across the organization. Partnering with teams across Cooper Steel to administer systems, support integrations, and maintain data accuracy, this role will focus on understanding and translating business needs into practical technology solutions. The ideal candidate combines construction industry experience with a strong interest in technology and drive for continuous improvement.

If you're ready to build with us, we're looking for someone:
  • With a 4-year degree in a related field and at least 2 years of experience in the construction industry leveraging construction-specific software, systems, and workflows is preferred. Ideal candidates may have worked in roles such as project management, preconstruction, fabrication, engineering, or field operations.
  • Knowledgeable in Microsoft Power BI, database concepts, and data modeling is a plus.
  • Able to understand business processes and stakeholder needs, translating them into practical technology solutions while effectively communicating both technical and functional concepts.
  • Proactive and capable of managing multiple initiatives simultaneously.
  • Communicative and collaborative, with the ability to build relationships across teams.
  • Innovative with strong analytical and critical thinking skills, balancing strategy and execution.
  • Knowledgeable of emerging technologies and industry trends, with the ability to identify opportunities for process improvement and operational efficiency.

In this role, you will:
  • Develop a deep understanding of business processes, workflows, and data structures to identify opportunities for improvement and translate business needs into technology-driven solutions.
  • Partner with end users and stakeholders to gather feedback, document requirements, and build, maintain, and support applications and automations within platforms such as Quickbase, PowerApps, and similar technologies, including workflows, APIs, scripts, and AI-enabled solutions.
  • Create and maintain application documentation, training materials, SOPs, and user guides to support user adoption and operational consistency.
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve application, integration, and system issues, and respond to enhancement requests.
  • Track and document technology initiatives and project activities within the IT department.
