Construction Superintendent - Safety

The Opportunity:

Legacy Professional Services is seeking a Construction Superintendent - Safety to provide field leadership and oversight of construction safety activities on hyperscale data center construction projects.

In this role, you'll work closely with project leadership, Superintendents, subcontractors, field teams, and client representatives to promote a proactive safety culture and ensure construction activities are performed in accordance with project safety plans, OSHA requirements, client standards, and established safe work practices. You'll maintain a strong field presence, identify and address potential hazards, support planning for high-risk activities, and help ensure safety is integrated into daily construction operations.

This position is ideal for an experienced construction safety professional who understands field operations, communicates effectively across all levels of a project team, and is committed to creating an environment where safety, accountability, and operational excellence go hand in hand.

What You'll Do:
  • Provide day-to-day field leadership for construction safety activities across hyperscale data center projects.
  • Promote and reinforce a proactive safety culture focused on hazard recognition, prevention, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Monitor field activities to verify compliance with OSHA regulations, project-specific safety plans, client requirements, and established safe work practices.
  • Conduct routine jobsite safety inspections, observations, and audits to identify hazards and ensure timely corrective action.
  • Partner with Superintendents, Project Managers, subcontractors, and trade supervision to integrate safety requirements into daily work planning and field execution.
  • Review Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), Activity Hazard Analyses (AHAs), pre-task plans, permits, and other safety documentation prior to high-risk work activities.
  • Support safety requirements related to fall protection, electrical safety, lockout/tagout (LOTO), confined spaces, hot work, excavation, lifting and rigging, material handling, and other construction activities.
  • Lead and participate in safety meetings, toolbox talks, daily huddles, orientations, and project safety initiatives.
  • Monitor subcontractor safety performance and work with trade partners to address unsafe conditions, behaviors, and recurring trends.
  • Support incident and near-miss investigations, including documentation, root-cause analysis, corrective actions, and lessons learned.
  • Maintain accurate safety documentation, inspection records, corrective action logs, training records, and required project reporting.
  • Track safety observations and performance trends and communicate areas of concern, emerging risks, and recommended corrective actions to project leadership.
  • Coordinate with Quality Control, MEP, Connectivity, Commissioning, and other project teams to ensure safety requirements are incorporated into construction, testing, energization, and turnover activities.
  • Support phased construction, commissioning, energization, and turnover activities while maintaining appropriate controls for changing jobsite conditions.
  • Exercise stop-work authority when an imminent hazard or unsafe condition requires immediate intervention.

Required Qualifications:

  • Seven or more years of construction experience with significant responsibility for field safety, site supervision, or construction safety management.
  • Experience supporting safety programs on large-scale commercial, industrial, mission-critical, or other complex construction projects.
  • Strong working knowledge of OSHA construction standards and construction safety practices.
  • Experience conducting jobsite inspections, safety observations, hazard assessments, and corrective action follow-up.
  • Knowledge of high-risk construction activities, including fall protection, electrical safety, lockout/tagout, confined spaces, hot work, excavation, and lifting and rigging.
  • Experience working directly with subcontractors, trade supervision, and project leadership to resolve field safety issues.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, project schedules, site logistics plans, and safety documentation.
  • Strong leadership, communication, organizational, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and construction management platforms such as Procore, Autodesk Construction Cloud/BIM 360, and Bluebeam.


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience supporting hyperscale data center, mission-critical, advanced manufacturing, semiconductor, or other large-scale construction projects.
  • Experience supporting construction activities involving complex MEP systems, electrical energization, commissioning, and phased turnover.
  • Experience managing subcontractor safety performance in fast-track, multi-trade construction environments.
  • Familiarity with client-specific safety programs, permit-to-work processes, and mission-critical project requirements.
  • Experience supporting incident investigations, root-cause analysis, corrective action programs, and safety performance reporting.


Preferred Certifications:
  • OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety certification.
  • Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST).
  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Associate Safety Professional (ASP).
  • First Aid/CPR/AED certification.
  • Additional safety certifications or training related to electrical safety, fall protection, confined space, excavation, or other high-risk construction activities are a plus.
