We're seeking a
Superintendent Commissioning - Mechanical to lead the commissioning of complex electrical systems for high-performance data centers. This role is responsible for ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient integration of electrical infrastructure, including UPS systems, switchgear, generators, and redundant power paths, while collaborating closely with mechanical teams to support liquid cooling and HVAC system integration. As a key leader in our commissioning team, you'll oversee planning, execution, and validation of electrical systems from pre-functional testing through final handover. Your ability to manage cross-functional teams, resolve technical challenges, and uphold safety and quality standards will be critical to our mission of delivering sustainable, high-performance compute environments.
Job requirements - High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field with a minimum of 7 years of experience in mechanical construction management, including at least 3 years in data center or mission-critical facility projects.
- PMP, LEED AP, or similar certifications are a plus.
- Proven experience with liquid cooling systems (e.g., direct-to-chip, immersion cooling) in high-performance computing environments.
- In-depth knowledge of mechanical systems including HVAC, plumbing, and liquid cooling infrastructure.
- Proficient in interpreting P&IDs, mechanical drawings, commissioning scripts, and Change Management plans.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to proactively identify and resolve issues.
- Demonstrated leadership and communication skills to manage diverse teams and complex projects. Strong technical writing and documentation capabilities.
- Familiarity with commissioning software, Building Management Systems (BMS), and project management tools such as Procore, Primavera, MS Project, and Microsoft Office Suite.
Other important requirements:
- Must provide own steel-toed work boots; other PPE will be supplied.
- Must be able to reliably commute to the work site daily or have plans to relocate before starting work.
- Must be comfortable working a rotational schedule, which includes day and night shifts as well as weekend work, based on project needs.
- Employees working night shifts will receive a 15% premium added to their hourly rate only for hours worked during night shifts.
Job responsibilities - Lead the commissioning of mechanical systems including HVAC, chilled water, and liquid cooling infrastructure.
- Verify mechanical installations against design specifications, performance benchmarks, and regulatory standards.
- Coordinate with subcontractors to ensure accurate installation, testing, and documentation of mechanical systems.
- Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues during startup, testing, and commissioning phases.
- Develop and implement Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures to ensure safe energization and operation of mechanical systems.
- Conduct walk-through inspections to confirm compliance with project specifications, safety protocols, and industry regulations.
- Inspect materials, manufactured components, and installation practices for adherence to contract and code requirements.
- Document inspection results, recommend corrective actions, and ensure timely resolution of non-compliant issues.
- Provide QA/QC feedback throughout all phases of the project and support the development of risk mitigation strategies.
- Train and oversee subcontractor teams to ensure consistent compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Ensure all mechanical systems meet contractual obligations, regulatory codes, and safety benchmarks.
- Collaborate with field teams, design engineers, and clients to develop integrated, solution-oriented approaches.
- Support the development and verification of energy efficiency strategies for mechanical systems.

Compensation - Per Diem amount of $180.00 and project allowance, when applicable
