Full Job Description
Project Scheduler

Los Angeles Unified School District MAAS Companies

The Work
In a construction program this size, the schedule is the most important tool we have. If the schedule is wrong, the budget follows. As a Project Scheduler, you are the person who sees through the contractor's paperwork to find the truth of the project's progress.

You'll spend your time independently reading architectural and structural drawings to understand the real scope of the work. When a contractor submits a P6 baseline or a monthly update, you're the one identifying missing logic, slippage, or critical path issues. This isn't just data entry; it's forensic work. You'll perform Time Impact Analysis (TIA) to determine if a delay has merit and create Earned Value curves to show the team exactly where they stand. You'll be out at the construction sites, attending meetings, and checking that what you see on the screen matches what's actually happening on the ground.

What You'll Own
  • Technical review of Contractor P6 Baseline Construction Schedules and monthly updates to identify missing scope or logic.
  • Creation of Earned Value (EVA) curves and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to track project health.
  • Schedule Time Impact Analysis (TIA) using the Windows Analysis method to evaluate delay claims and time extensions.
  • QA/QC on all contractor schedule submittals to ensure they conform with the contract and District guidelines.
  • Status updates for Master Program Schedules, ensuring data integrity and proper use of program-level coding.
  • Regular site visits to verify actual field progress against the submitted schedule.
